500ml bottle, batch RØ264, picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Oily pour revealing a brownish head with a solid stand and spotty lacing to the glassware. Vanilla, aniseed and chocolate nose. Rugged grainy malts in flavour, slightly roasted and mid-sweet, and added by dark fruits. Bittersweet liquorice to the finish. Ashy dry palate. Smooth on the swallow. Good, even though I had expected more from this one (at home in Tromsø, 01.02.2013).

Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a lasting brown head. The aroma is hard roasted, smoke, licorice and citric hops. Heavy roasted flavour with strong notes of licorice. Light coffee and tar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium dark brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty burnt aroma with strawy earthy coffee notes. Dry-sweet roasty burnt earthy taste with mealy strawy vanilla notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy earthy caramel pudding aftertaste with perfumy roasty peppery burnt licorice notes. Nice and full of character, although perhaps a little bit over the top as far as roastiness goes. Very dark brown, creamy milk chocolate head. Chocolate nose. Very inviting coffee and cocoa palate. Not too sweet, there is some bitterness lurking in the background.

0.5 L bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Opaque dark brown to black. Fine-bubbled choco head. Fresh yeasty fruit aroma with some gently roasted chocolate scented malts added. Taste is sharpish choco/coffee dark malts. Some dark dried fruit tones and a vague bitterness below. Freshened up by a nice sparkling carbonation. Dryish, roasty and fruity endnotes. An honest and tasteful Imperial Stout.

Botella. Pitch black, brown head, good lacing. Pleasant roasted maltiness with chocolate and dark fruits. Good filling mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of roasted malt with chocolate, dark fruits and some coffee, medium sweetness. Well lasting finish of roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Well balanced. Yum!

Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully to mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, light coffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, dark roasted, ash, coffee, chocolate, light licorice - prunes. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle at Copenhagen Ølfestival 2012. Black color. Very roasty aroma and flavor with coffee, charcoal, leather, licorice and bitter chocolate. Very ashy with lots of coffee and charcoal. Not bad, but not completely in balance either.
