3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2008
Bottle at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. It pours a hazy, orange body under a small, off-white head. Pine and resin dominates the aroma, but there is also some citrus and promises of a sweet flavor. Sugary maltyness in the mouth, full-bodied, sweet and almost astringent bitter, with flavors of resin and pinecones, and grapefruit. Long piney finish. A bit unharmonic beer but far from bad. (Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Fresh, fat aroma of peaches. Quite full-bodied with plenty of caramel and fruit with distinct peachy accents from the aroma hops that also leave a solid dose of bitterness. 120908
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2008
[bottle at EBF 2008]
Blast of US hops in the nose: lemony grapefruit with some caramel in the background. Cloudy, brownish-dark yellow with a white ring. Potent hops bitterness...not balanced with enough sweet malt, but good caramel/toffee/biscuit flavour. Lasting bitterness but not astringent, high carbonation, light to medium body.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maria (9570) - Thisted, DENMARK - OCT 6, 2008
EBF2008. It’s a beautiful, hazy golden beer and the hoppy aroma has notes of spruce, fruit and citrus. The flavour has a nice, hoppy bitterness and is rather dry, and it has notes of citrus, spruce, pine, mango and if I were to suggest any changes, a little more caramel would make it more harmonic. Bit nice it is!

[EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Average bubbly white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Clear sparkling golden color. Aroma of floral and peach, with some grapefruit and pineapple like notes. Over the palate came good caramel and toasted malty sweetness to counter the bitterness. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and dry texture. Heavy bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Lingering dry bitter floral fruity finish.
