Gr0ve (2113) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 30, 2013
500 ml bottle. Deep golden leaning towards amber. Clear, but with loose yeast in the bottle which unfortunately made the last pour rather murky. Medium white head that clings to the glass. Interesting spicy herbal aroma. Phenols that remind me of Belgian yeast. Earthy and fruity hop aroma. Quite an unusual hop blend, at least that’s how it comes through. Rich malty body. Hoppy bite, but the beer is well balanced for a double IPA.

Hazy amber beer, big white head. Minerally crisp palate. Very sweet malt, bordering on sugary. Caramel and lactose. Touch of citrus and sharp minerals. Finishes smooth. Ridiculously malt sweet for an IPA. totally dominates the faint hops!

50cl bottle thanks to Onkelgobber’s friend. Appearance - cloudy orange, generous head. Nose - oranges, perhaps apricots. Little bit of earthiness. Taste - earthy spicy, with sum citrus but not the expected bitterness. Palate - medium bodied creamy texture and fairly clean finish. Overall - good but not great.
