Danish. Hoppy Time serien er lavet med samme mængde råvarer men er henholdsvis kogt 1 time, 4 timer og 8 timer. Denne forskel i kogningen har betydning på smagen m.m. Hoppy Time er som navnet siger en bitter øl.

Sample from bottle, FØL 2013. Dark amber colour with a small, tan head. Sweet and fruity aroma with caramel malts, dried fruits and citrus and pines hops. Sweet and fruity taste. Medium body with an oily texture, soft carbonation. Finishes bitter with caramel malts, bready notes, dark chocolate, citrus and grasses. Not an unpleasant beer, but lacks the big bitterness and body as a DIPA should have.

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2012. It pours an unclear, golden-brown body under a big, dense, beige head. There’s some notes of chocolate in the aroma, as well as caramel, pine cones and bitterness. Quite balanced, but lacking the hop punch a beer like this should have. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, but not enough, neither initially nor in the end. Caramel maltyness, pine cones and resins. Full-bodied, sweet and pleasantly carbonated, and with chocolate and caramel notes in the finish. A pleasant beer indeed, but as for Hoppy Time 1 and 4, there’s unfortunately not enough hoppyness going on. 120512
