500 ml bottle, probably from Vinmonopolet. Or from Denmark. BB date 18. Febr. 2014. Batch #RØ297. ABV is 7.8%. Pitch black colour, moderate to low tan head. Strong aroma of Christmas spices (cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, pepper and cloves, according to the commercial description). The cinnamon is dominant. Also notes of coffee and chocolate. Medium sweet (but not cloying) and malty flavour, notes of coffee and chocolate, plenty of said Christmas spices. Not bad.

Bottled. A black beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of herbs. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and some spices, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Backlog, on tap at The Green Lion Inn 2011. Not a huge fan of the winter-seasonals, just didn’t make the cut in my opinion.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours black color with a small beige head. Aroma of licorice, some syrup, roasted malts and dark berries. Flavor of dark berries, burnt malts, faint spice notes, plums, some licorice, vanilla and earthy notes. Thick sweet malty palate with a berry twist. Decent mesh of all kinds of flavors.

Bottle. Low but lasting light brown creamy head. The body is black., Pretty spicy aroma with among others cinnamon. Spicy roasted mlat liquorice flavor with little hops bitterness. For some strange reason it feels a bit thin bodied for a beer with such a high level of alcohol. High carbonation. Long sweet spicy flavor,.

50 cl bottle from EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn, Denmark. BB 23 marts 2014. Sampled on December 26, 2013. Batch RØ291.
Black color, ver small dark brown head. Sweet, alcohol, spicy scent. Thin, malty, grainy taste. Light metallic aftertaste, also sweet and some toffee. Sort of thin fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Couldn’t quite make up my mind on this one, the beer sort of points in various directions and can’t seem to decide what it wants to really be in the end.
