Bottle, at Ølfestival 2012. It pours a black body under a dense, two-finger thick tan head. Coffee, chili and some roasted and chocolate-ish aromas, as well as a hint of citrus. Quite pleasant. That goes for the flavor too, with chili and coffee doing most of the work, as the name suggests, and then some roasted notes and even more coffee. Dry on the palate, with a certain chili warmth and a nice carbonation. Coffee and lots of chili in the end. A beer I bet would be nice with a rich chili con carne. 120512

0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Black color. Pungent aroma of coffee, charcoal and chili. Dry coffee flavor, chili starts to burn almost instantly. Some charcoal in finish. Medium body. Coffee and chili, seems like a bad idea to me.

Bottle, enjoyed october 10th 2012. I admit it, I like chili in my beers. The beer has a black body, very low beige head. Roasty aroma with hints of chili, softened by licorice and chocolate. Taste of not only coffee and chili, but also cocoa and dark berries. The chili taste is growing through the beer, getting pretty hot but not overkill, as there’s still good amounts of coffee, though the berries vanish in the chili hotness after a while. A richer body would have done this beer good, but it’s still a beer I enjoyed very much.

Bottle @ Gustav Wied, Roskilde. Medium head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are chili, vegetables, roast malt, coffee notes and hoppy notes. Chili too dominant and unbalanced.

Bottle from Barleywine. Pours dark brown with a small brown head. Coffee, chili and some sour notes hits the nose. Taste is very well roasted coffe, dark chocolate and chili. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, carbonation is quite high. After taste has a lot of chili. I really like a porter or stout with chili but this is too unbalanced, the chili takes over hand . Still, I don’t regret trying this brew out.

Pours a clear and dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, roasted, green pepper and cold coffee. The flavor follows the nose with additional chilli. The palate is chilliwarmth. Overall a beer below average, the level of chilli is too high.
