Bottle, 50 cl. Oily pitch black with a dense beige head, good retention and laces. Quite simpel aroma of sweet hard roasted malts and licorice. Taste follows the nose, with quite a heavy licorice note. A very simple palate, but ok. Medium body, some roasted bitterness in the finish.

Bottle 50 cl from Barleywine in CPH. Black with a dark brown head. Roasty notes, some sweet maltyness. Sweet licorice, some kind of candy-like sweetness. Medium/full body with low carbonation and a bitter licorice finish. Interesting!

Roasted aroma with mainly coffee, some vanilla and some chocolate, less liquorice than expected, but it is there in small quantities. Taste begins malty, a bit burnt and somewhat alcoholic but soon liquorice take over and make a long lasting intense liquorice finish. Nice porter with interesting complexetity in the earlier part of the taste, burnt, malty, bit charchetuery but that is unfourtunately soon overshadowed by the liquorice. However the liquorice taste is very nice so it is pretty okey anyway.

Strong taste, clear and direct, but without the warmth of a regular porter. The coolness of the palate gives it a different experience. Feels like they used more of a "salmiac" lakrids than a sweet one? I might be wrong. Enjoyed it even more on tap.
