COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Served in a Chouffe glass: Small beige to mocha head. Deep dark red ish brown body. Aromas of malts, dried leaves, some cream, caramel, prunes, some raisin and some soap. Flavour has lots of different (sweet) malty tones, caramel, bitters, some darker sugars, some prunes, cream, homey, nuts, dried leaves and some sweet oat and sweet wood. Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, malts, prunes, sweet and light dry tones with some caramel. Low carbo, creamy thicker close to oily mouthfeel, more than medium bodied and a sticky oily texture. Nice beer, not to complex but a good drinker.

0.33l bottle from Barleywine. Looks nice in the glass with a blurry dark ruby red almost purple colored body under a big dense and lasting almost dirty beige looking lacing head. Sweet sticky nose with lots of dark candied sugar, Roquefort cheese (something I happen to be eating with this), tropical sweet malty fruits and metallic traces. Smells quite sweet. Surprisingly high on the carbonation and it’s sticky and super sweet in the mouth! Almost cloying it’s so sweet this! A ton of the most intense banana and papaya sweetness you can imagine. Dark candied sugars with blue plums and raisins. Lingering alcohol in the aftertaste and there is something faint licorice ish or anise tone in the back making it a bit more interesting. A tad to much on the sweeter side of the scale to be honest, but as a slow sipper it kinda works in a strange way. 28.01.2014

330 ml bottle, a gift from Mr. Papsø himself. ABV is 9.1%. Mahogany colour, low off-white head. Intense aroma of malts, alcohol, sherry and oak. Sweet flavour, malty, oaky and fruity with notes of sherry. The fruitiness makes the beer more easily drinkable than the aroma made me fear. The hops are rather subdued.
