Bottle. Black colour with a small tan head. aroma is licorice, malt, coffee. Flavour is licorice, malt, hop, coffee, vanilla, alcohol. Warming nice beer.

Bottle, bought @ Barleywine, Cph. Pours completely black with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has coffee, roasted, dark chocolate, light vinious. A touch of tobacco. Medium carbonation, super oily mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of coffee, some light sticky sweetness, roasted malts, vinious and warming. Grainy dryness with some piney hops. Well-balanced.

0.75 l bottle at Copenhagen Ølfestival 2012. Black color. Sweet aroma of dark sugar, espresso and licorice. Very coffeish bittersweet flavor with dark sugar, nuts and warming alcohol. Good dessert sipper.

Clear dark dark black colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, wood, licorice, alcohol, dusty coffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, salty licorice, chocolate, alcohol, sharp, unbalanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20120609]

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. No head. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, vanilla, rhum, coffee and caramel.

Bottle@Ulfborg. Pours black with a tiny brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, soy sauce, alcohol and licorice. Flavor is sweet and malty with some licorice, alcohol and roasted notes. Full body, soft carbonation.

Pours black with no head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and spices. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate, coffee and vanilla finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Bottle, 75cl. A dark, dark brown beer with more or less no head. Looking quite clear. Lots of coffee on the nose, with a gentle touch of vanilla and booze. Lightly roasted and tar-like. Full-bodied, warming and soft on the carbonation. Lots of flavor, with coffee dominating. Rum, vanilla notes and some tar like notes too. Lasting warming finish with lots of coffee. A quite wonderful one, but I’d still like it a bit more balanced. 120623

A great stout, thanks to TorbenH and Tulle. Black coloured and..well..black. Light brown head, medium duration, high alcohol dosn’t enforce huge heads. Aroma of soy sauce, chocolate and lots of dark sugars, rum. Flavor is heavy sweeet, coffee, warming alcohol. Syrupy texture and flat carbonation.
