3 months past BB date. Bottle, 4.8%. Weak dusty aroma. Clear yellow colour. Small white head. Thin flavour, quite bready. Slightly rough bitterness. Hint of rubber mouthfeel in the finish.

This Pils pours clear pale yellow with a lofty white head that holds pretty good. Smell is tart fruity hops, light malt. The taste has a bit more malt backbone then the smell would indicate. A crisp pils that is decent, light body and active carbonation.

Warm golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, grass, hay, light fruity. Light sweet flavour, light to medium bitter, quite dry. Lasting bitter finish. Not bad as a pilsener.

Squat little 33cl swing top bottle pours the standard brilliantly clear gold with nearly bright white head and leaving behind some spotty lacing. The mild aroma offers up snippets of noble hops and some sugary sweet malts in the background. The taste delivers a pleasing level of bitter hops lined thinly with floral hops making it very refreshing. The hops do a great job overshadowing the sweet malts, pilsner like malts and a bit of malt graininess that comes in at the finish. Nice hoppy Pils that is right up my alley.

33cl bottle. Poured golden color with a white head. Very grassy, malty aroma with some disturbing sweaty? notes as well. Flavor is grassy malt, some sweetness, low bitter finish. Not very good.

Clear, golden beer with sparkling head. floral-hoppy and sweet in the nose. Aromas of delicious hops and citrus, subtly tart, slightly sweet in the background. The finish is also slightly sweet, but dominated by a harsh tartness. The further course is milder, some aroma hops come through!

Würziger, frischer und fruchtiger Geruch, der sehr zum Trinken verleitet. Ein fruchtig-herbes Aroma breitet sich aus und bleibt dort lange Zeit. Der malzig-würzige Unterton bleibt noch lange, nach dem nichts mehr im Mund ist, bestehen. Zu den leckeren vollmundigen Aromen kommt noch eine Top-süffigkeit, die das Bier Überdurchschnittlich macht.

Würziger Geruch und angenehme Pilsherbe. Nachgeschmack dezent.
Ein sehr weiches und bekömmliches Pils.
*Oft wird das Detmolder Pilsener wegen seiner Sanftheit als "Frauen-Bier" tituliert. Das halte ich dann doch für etwas abgeschmackt.Test vom 20.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bottle looks almost like a cheap beer, beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts hoppy-dry, quite soapy, more and more sourish. Finish a bit unbalanced, still soapy, too dry. Not good.

Clear golden color, big lasting white head. Malty, herbal, fresh scent. Malty, soapy taste. Medium low mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Bottle purchased 12/08/2010 in Winterberg, Germany. Colour: Butterscotch yellow, slightly cloudy and medium-high head. Nose: vanilla around the rim of the glass, dark grain bread malt, citrusy hops, mandaring oranges. Quite pronounced. Taste: light sweet, medium bitter, medium sour. Lemon, pine, finish is bitter and biting.
