Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with nice foamy head. Very little lacing. Tastes better than its sweet doughy smell. Just the right combination of sweetness and bitterness. A good pale ale.

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 16/20
Onslow (710) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - FEB 17, 2012
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Light brown / amber brew with good head and head retention. Aroma of malt, caramel, butter scotch, spice, grass, a little earth. Taste is sweet at the start - caramel malt, not much else. Mild grassy and floral hops assert themselves midway in the swallow, with a modest flourish of floral hops at the very end. What could have been a superb finish is dampened a bit by lingering sweetness at the end of the swallow. Palate is excellent and would rate a 4 if not for the lingering stickiness after the swallow. If you like sweet and malty brews with a decent hops profile, this is one for you. For me it is just a little too sweet throughout.

Bottle. Dark caramel / amber color, clear, pours with a tall white foamy head. Mild malt aroma. Interesting taste - bitterness comes out, pretty smooth, good finish. I like this beer and would like to have again. It is an interesting combination and is very drinkable.

RyanMM (410) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Pours deep amber with a very full head. Quite foamy/rocky and long-lasting. Aroma is incredibly bready. Thin body, low-medium carbonation, quite creamy. Nice sweetness up front, pleasantly mild bittering on the finish, lots of bready malts and some earthy hops making up the palate. Pretty good beer, definitely a unique one.

demitriustown (906) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JUN 10, 2011
12 oz bottle: Aroma has got a nice hop texture, slightly grassy, with a nice citrus note, then good malt backing, sticky caramel, and almost a roasted toasted characteristic. Appearance is a crystal clear amber with a thick slightly off white head that lingers. Taste is got the malt in there. the hops come up in the aftertaste with the citrus in there. NIcely bitter, slightly astringent. And a lingering hop bitterness left in the aftertaste. Overall, Kind of a mixed up beer. IMHO. Cheers!
