Bottle. Poured clear, light amber color tiny white head. Earthy, malty aroma with something sweet (I thought pear). Tasted very sweet with a bit of sourness. A tiny bit of hop bitterness, and caramel for a split second before the aftertaste. Palate was standard for a lager. Easy to drink.

Pours a gold yellow with thick white head, minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly toasted malt, very light floral hops, and not a lot else. Flavor is surprisingly strong, which I was not expecting from the aroma. Overall pretty decent.

It is okay. Surely in the Czech camp. Not too much diacetyl. Reminiscent of Czech lagers but not as good.

12oz bottle from The Beer Depot in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a clear, golden-yellow colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet and grainy with a light, crisp grassy hopping. Flavor is similar. Sweeter, grainy pale malts with a light, fruity grass. This does finish very dry with a light, grassy bitterness along with a touch of sweetness and earth before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a clean, easy drinking lager. Decent grassy dryness and a somewhat sweeter, grainy malt. This wasn’t a bad pale lager.

Bottle. I am not a big lager fan, but this was pretty refreshing on hot day. Crisp with only very minor skunky tones. Clean finish, carbonation is moderate. I would have again when looking for this style.

Sample at GABF on 9-18-2010. Comes a light gold with a nich fluffy white head. Aroma of malt, hops and some citrus. Tastes somewhat sweet with some hop bitterness. Pretty good lager.

My psychological set clearly works in favor of this beer… I hear the words “Detroit,” “Bohemian,” and “beer” in the same sentence I pin for the Stroh’s and Signature of days gone by. Fortunately for Old Detroit brewery, their beer far exceeds either of those two brews. Medium gold in color with a white head, aroma dominated by hops, flavor dominated by hops in the finish but with a respectable malt back bone. Very good!

Poured a crisp brass color from the bottle with a rather weak white head. Sweet malty aroma, but not very pungent. interesting mixture of sweetness and bitterness. overall very drinkable. A good local lager.
