3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at brewpub. Poured a hazy dark amber with an average head that was lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Heavy hoppy citrus flavor with a moderate bitter finish. Good brew.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewpub. Amber pour with a thin white head. The aroma is soft and orangey. Nice light sweetness along with a touch of frutiness. Soft and lightly hoppy with a kiss of juicy fruity malts. Lingering fruity flavour over a softly hoppy finish. A fresh, tasty IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazed amber color with a medium off-white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of piney hops, fruit and sweet malt. The finish is somewhat bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft pint at the brewpub. Do you ever eat a plate of food and say to yourself, "Yeah, that wasnít bad," but you could kinda tell the cook followed a recipe note by note? Thatís kinda how I felt about this one (and another Detroit BC offering) ... not really bad, if a bit flat, but just boring and uninspired. (#3812, 1/23/2010)

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2007 Light amber color with lots of light orange/straw yellow. Again, little head, but tons of lacing. Served ice cold. Aroma is quite lacking due to the serving temperature, but citrus cascades is there. Sediment again thankfully. Begins very dry and bitter with (surprise) tons of cascades. I was ready to write this off as another ultra-unoriginal highly hopped American IPA, but as it warmed, a decent roasted malt came out, very subtle but impressive. On the finish there was a good mix of yeast and malt and the hops stuck with me and were quite clean and fresh. High quality beer, needs to be served warmer. Iíd say medium to full body even. A great aftertaste, bitter but leaves a nice clean malty finish. The best iíve had here so far. Again, I will have to rerate after I have tried this beer at a more appropriate temperature.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazed, golden-amber colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty nice with lots of citrusy pines and florals consisting of grapefruits and oranges with a few resins. Medium sweet caramel offers a nice balance as well. Flavor is similar. Citrusy grapefruits and oranges up front with a nice mix of pines and florals. Caramel comes in to balance with a moderate sweetness before the hops grow a touch into a balanced finish where this is dry, citrusy, somewhat resiny, and has a moderate bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a very solid IPA and a real pleasant surprise. Well balanced and nicely hopped with lots of citruses.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy light orange-amber color with a nice 1 cm. head that lingers a bit. Aroma is very floral and piney but lots of malt comes through too. Taste is great, lots of flowers, pine, citrus and some fruitiness too. Solid malt backbone gives it some nice body. Very bitter and dry finish. One of my favorite IPAís.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2014 Tap: somewhere around orange & amber with a slightly thin but creamy, eggshell foam sitting on top. Aroma had some generic hopping with brash leaves, light pine, mild grapefruit peel, with a slight lemon & citric finish. Noticeable toasted, almost-caramel malt bill underneath. Taste is bitter but controlled with notes of pine, herbal leaves, grapefruit peel, orange, & quite a large malt body. Baked bread, toast, & crystal malts add some finishing sweetness & a bit of mount coating. Not bad but I think the malt bill was too dark for this specific hop bill... Would have liked something less sweet, more dry. Just okay.
