3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 auerbrau (2953) - Peace Dale, Rhode Island, USA - FEB 17, 201212oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Quiet, soft chocolate aroma. Flavors carry a similar light softness to them. There’s a lightly buttery sensation, some distant roast, and a metallic or mineral edge to this beer. I don’t know a lot about this particular beer, but this is how I might imagine a macro would make a chocolate stout. Not too sweet, not to heavy on the flavor, kind of bland in the middle. Hey, at least it’s not Southern Tier Choklat, which, for some godforsaken reason is trending as one of the week’s top performers. I’d take this over that, any day.

12oz bottle from ABC on Betton. Near black pour with a tan ring. Aroma is leathery and chocolate malts. Tastes are roasty, grain, coffee, chocolate, acidic, burnt, caramel. Dries out in the finish. Ok.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 ExpendableHero (657) - Florida, USA - APR 7, 2013
Cola colored brew with a thin, tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate and something earthy. Tastes of bittersweet dark chocolate, earthy notes, and some dark coffee. Sweeter than it is bitter. Bittersweet chocolate flavor in finish. A bit chalky/dry, yet thin. Light bodied for a stout, but it works. I enjoyed this beer.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 burg326 (2326) - Florida, USA - FEB 22, 2013
12 ounce bottle pours a thin black color with aromas of chocolate, malt, ligt vanilla, and some earthy hops. Flavors are the same but watered down, not as chocolaty as expected and thin on the palate for a stout.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20 oyamac (30) - Michigan, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Smells of chocolate with a bready note and slight alcohol. Thin looking stout. Fast moving beer, very little taste. Leaves palate almost instantly. What taste there is is coffee and dark chocolate. Ok beer. When you taste it it is not bad, but it is gone so fast and feels super light for a stout.

Bottle, toffee aroma. Coffee flavors, watery, easy to drink. Coloration isn’t as dark as I’d like. Commercial beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sikash (175) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Arooma is chocolate but minor with notes of malt and coffe. Flavor is kind of light but silky smooth with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is smooth and full and carbonation is average. Overall a good beer but not very complex for a stout.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ColovianTrader (44) - - FEB 9, 2013
Heavy roasted chocolate flavors, toffee and toasted bread. Hints of sweet cream. A bit acidic but plenty smooth.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chipalsa (1090) - Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2012
This is a pretty solid stout, lots of bitter cocoa and light fruit... raisins mainly. The finish is full of roasted malts and dark chocolate, while the body is just a tad thin. Good stuff though.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 drowland (4994) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2012
11/29/12. 12oz bottle from ABC. Black pour, more of a deep brown pour under the light, with a small khaki head that’s gone and hardly laces. Light aroma of roasted malts, acidity, and a metallic tang. The flavor follows the same lines - light roasted malt/coffee with a definite sour twang and metal. Barely any chocolate, and just not very good in general.

Aroma is milk chocolate, vanilla, some booze. Appearance us dark brown, light brown head. Taste is light, hints of chocolate, coffee, finished bitter. The mouthfeel is also light, too light for a stout.
