Solid oatmeal stout that leaves a little to be desired in body and taste to bring it to the next level.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black/brown with a fine, tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a mild thickness to it. Flavor is sweet and creamy. Chocolate and a little bit of coffee come through. A bit of vanilla. Pretty decent Oatmeal stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This draft brew from a festival poured a small sized head of finely sized brown colored bubbles that was fully diminished and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation . The aroma was mild with burnt malty notes. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of burnt roasted malt and dark malts. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample at MBGF 06. Went to try Hot Town Wit which they did not have so I tryed this. Dark brown color with an average creamy off-white head that mostly diminished with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee nutty aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good but not a standout beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught sample at MBG 2006 Summer Festival. Dark chocolate brown colour. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and tobacco. Thinnish body. Flavour is fairly sweet and smoky. A pretty standard stout - not bad, not great.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2006 Draught. At 2006 Michigan Brewers’ Guild Festival. Opaque reddish-brown (okay, mostly black) with a decent creamy-foamy tan head. Very roasty aroma, syrupy molasses, nut oils, coffee - dry and also sweet. Taste is sweeter than the aroma indicates, lighter too - some roast and cereal in the finish, mildly alcoholic - muted, but nicely balanced. The body was a little weak, soft on the palate - I wasn’t really overwhelmed, no - more like a very robust brown ale than a real stout - lacked malt body and ultimately character.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at brewery. Was just labled oatmeal stout on the vat so I am assuming that it is the st. brigids.
I am usually not a fan of stouts but I enjoyed this. I think it was because it is a bit lighter/ thiner that most stouts. Strong oatmeal flavor with a bit of coffee/carmel.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
MiBG Fest 2005:
Was the first beer I started the day with, dive right on into those stouts! Poured nearly opaque with some ruby highlights, fizzy tan head and some lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, oatmeal, coffee grinds, toasted malt, and grassy hops. The tast starts twangy and lactic with a mocha and malt influence. The finish was nice with the bitterness from both a hop character and a coffee undertone. The feel is the weak point for this beer, thin and watery, no backbone what so ever. Okay brew all told, a easy way to start the day.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft: Poured deep black with some frothy tan head. Aroma was some chocolate sweetness and roasted coffee. Flavor was weaker than expected, but the roasted malts and chocolate made an appearance. As opposed to the other raters, the finish was more sweet. Nothing really unique. Had a thinner body that I would have liked. Decent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap: Roasted coffee and roasted grain aroma. Dark brown with no transparency. Tan head that lasts a minute or so. Very roasty, coffee and grain. Very light chocolate in the background with a light bitterness in the finish.
