Detroit Brew Factory Smokestack Stout

May 2004 nitrogen keg. The bartender described this as a "Milk-shake stout". Pours a very cloudy/hazy dark black with some dark brown tinges. Good creamy off-white head. Very good looking beer. Aroma has a light hint of chocolate, milk, vanilla, cream and maybe some earthy barley. Flavor is moderately sweet, lots of chocolate malt, light lactose influences, vanilla flavors and touches of lightly dry black malt. Hugely creamy, very soft and velvety texture, drinks very thickly, almost like a milk shake. Quite good, though quite simple.
