First brewed at Bosteels, transfered to the Champagne region of France were it is treated much like a champagne with the bottles inverted and the yeast expunged and bottle recorked.

An excellent beer - my first Biere Brut, and was quite surprised. Very high carbonation, just like a sparkling wine, and the colour is similar too, a pale golden. The smell is somewhere between a cider and a sparkling wine, with notes of apples, white grapes, spices. The taste is bitter-sweet and very refreshing.

75 cl bottle, shared. Cuvee 2012, and just past the expiry date (1 Dec. 2015). Cork popped out of the bottle by itself, and there was a little overflow from the bottle. Poured a clear golden color with lots of carbonation, and a white head that didn’t last very long. Aroma’s: fruity, lemon/sourish, slightly vinous, sweet herbs (aniseed?). Retronasal there’s more sweetness, light sweet herbs, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Medium bodied.. Quite a bit carbonation. Flavors linger. Not bad actually.

Bottle at Appellation Wines. Clear golden. Nose is citrus and lemon esters, yeast, honey. Tastes honey, orange, very sweet. Not very beer-like, very sweet. Unusual but nothing worth the price.

Gold with champagne like carbonation and head. Nose was banana bread out of the bottle, becoming oxidized apples as it warmed. Lots of yeast driven spice esters and breadiness dominating flavors. I wouldn’t call this a brut compared to champagne, maybe demisec. Fairly sweet. Slightly hot alcohol in mouth and on finish. Closer to a highly carbonated tripel than a champagne. Interesting but definitely not something I’ll get again for the price of admission.

Aroma: Very sweet, vine fruity, saison-like, some lemon.
Appearance: Clear, light yellow color. Huge, quickly disappearing, white head.
Taste: Very sweet, spicy.
Palate: Medium-full body. Very fizzy carbonation. Astringent, light warm finish.
Overall: Very interesting, unusual, champagne-beer.

Wysycenie wysokie, wytrawne, pijalne, rześkie, goryczka szlachetna niezbyt wysoka.

Biondo paglierino fortemente carbonato con fragile schiuma bianca. Pungente e speziata al naso, presenta note fruttate e maltate ma ricorda un vino brut. Gusto dolciastro, acidulo, asciutto, secco; corpo medio e struttura setosa. Buona!

Bottle at Cafe Rose Red, 28th October 15. Looked classy in a champagne glass, lots of bubbles. The aroma is spice, yeast, intriguing. Taste is spicey, smooth, good yeast and complexity. Really liked this

Bottle courtesy of the brewery drunk at Dupont
Wan greenish blonde with fluffy white head. very lively carbonation, honey, fruity quite harsh, sweet and too much carbonation. Corriander, yeast esters, boozy, not my thing.
