bottled. Crisp & clear golden ale, very champagne like; with notes of peach, apple & other fruits, spice, and assertive heat. Whats really nuts here is the balance of sugar-maltiness, alcohol, & the light but always present yeast. This bottle was pricey, to say the least, @ $27, but very well done, an amazing treat to start 2008. Prost!

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2014 75cl bottle shared. Happy birthday to me! Pours clear light golden with a thick bubbly foamy white head. Lots of bubbles. Light sweet smell with floral and yeasty notes. Taste is also sweet with caramel and fruity notes (orange, grapes, peach). Some yeast again and light alcoholic finish. Less sparkling and sweeter than what I was expecting. Very good.

Bottle. Pours golden in color with a foamy whitish head. White grapes, apple, hints of spicyness and lemony notes in aroma. Slightly tart mouthfeel. White wine, apple and pear in taste as well, but also notes of lemon and summer meadow appears later on. Sweet fruity bready notes in finish with a spicy twist in the end.

75cl bottle from Vanuxeem, drunk in the garden. Pours clear gold with sweet yeasty aroma. Taste is super fine bubbles, honey, sweet grain & vanilla with lusciously sweet background tripel esters. Very nice indeed.

Bottle at Appellation. Pours light golden, nose is sugary toffee, taste is rich caramel, quite fizzy, dry, sweet.

Bottle, tasting at Appellation Wines. Slightly hazy golden body with a thin white head. Light lacing. Classic Belgian aroma of peppery spice and yeast. Flavour of lemon meringue, yeast and straw. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Incredibly easy drinking for its strength.

Bottle, pours a clear light gold with a fluffy white head, has a lot of carbonation, aroma is fruity with light spices, has sweet yeast taste with notes of tart fruits and spices, has light bitter/dry warming alcohol finish, the alcohol is nicely hidden and this drinks pretty smooth, very good beer

Light opaque beer with a weak head and generous bubbliness. Lively carbonation. The smell is citric metallic mixed with minerals and wood. Very champagne-like. Very subtly fruity. On the mouth it is quite sweet, marshmallow-like almost. Subtle alcoholic sweetness and again the champagne dominance of minerals and wood. Some earthiness too. Herby graininess. Some coriander. Quite bitter sour but with a nice watery feel to balance it off. Astringent finish. Quite an experience! Take care to follow the serving instructions carefully, especially the low temperature, otherwise the sweetness becomes quite overbearing.

Ik ben geen fan van champagne, maar dit heeft net de goede verhouding tussen bier en champagne voor goed te zijn. Lekker

Fruity aroma. Very light yellow colour with champagne head. Very fruity flavour but not overpowering, oily finish. Bubbly light body with high carbonation.

Clear golden pour...thick white head...lively...great retention. Aroma has light ginger and spice...mild sweet fruitness. Flavor follows suit...lots of delicate ginger and spice...getting chamomile...mild sweetness and fruitiness...touch of leather and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is light but very silky and lively with a dry, spicy/gingery finish that dries to earthy/fruity bitterness and warms. Great beer.
