bigbeersilove (10), lansing, Michigan, USA Jan 22, 2008 (750ml Bottle cellared from 2005) Cloudy yellow pour, with a sharp well defined white head. Sweet aroma of yeast, malt, and banana. Sweet start to the taste but rapidly dried out to an almost champagne-like finish. The mouth-feel is the most amazing part of this beer. The carbonation is so tight it drinks like champagne, and it’s as if a million Belgium ballerinas are dancing down your tongue. This is a most wonderful beer, and i recommend it to any beer lovers who are celebrating a special occasion!
joohefner (379), Isla Vista, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 A gold white wine color with a dense white head of medium sized bubbles that slowly glide down the side of the glass. Strongly sweet and spicy aroma with a light floral perfume. Thick and slick body. Flavor is an intense honey and orange sweetness with a strong clove spiciness. Very rich and strong. I recommend sharing this with someone and will lower the price if you split it. leroyneiman (9), Nashville, Tennessee, USA does not count Jun 23, 2008 Pours golden. Sweet honey and marzipan aroma with some spicy, perfumey and floral notes. Some subtle fruity tones. Sweet, yeasty and sweet flavour. Some perfume, flowers and marzipan in the flavour as well. Pours lightly hazy bright golden with a medium, very fizzy white head that almost immediatly disappears. Fizzes along nicely afterwards with lots of bubbles creating a continuing film of foam. Impressive looks for a beer. Aroma is very fruity, lots of oranges, lemons, apples. A good deal of coriander as well. Very high carbonation, some oiliness to it. Flavour is very champagne-like, sweetnes with lots of slightly tarty fruits, apples, oranges and vanilla and coriander mixing in well. It’s very vinious as well. Truly a remarkable beer - expensive, though. Rciesla (712), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 19, 2008 Bottle at monks in a flute and then right out of the bottle on new years 08. Pours a light yellow vinous sparkling body. Aroma is spiced fruitiness. Flavors are tart fruit, some light fruit, grapes, apples. A solid beer. This is the real champange of beers! kiefdog (305), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2008 75cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear yellow with a thick white head much like champagne. Extraordinarily carbonated. Smells of juniper, sour grapes, cedar. Flavor is slightly sweet, banana and spice with notes of juniper and phenol. Effervescent. The initial mouthfeel is that of a fine sparkling wine or champagne, but finishes like an ale. Interesting ale, especially in terms of how it is created.
