2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
First of all, in my opinion, this brew is way overpriced to say the least because I do not feel it is all that great of a brew. It poured a large white invigorating foamy head and there was not that much lacing on the sides of my glass. The aroma was a combination of being spicy, fruity and a slight clove aroma. There was carbonation observed and the body was a pale yellow. The taste of this brew was fizzy and tingly which is not much to my liking when it comes to taste. I was not impressed to say the least and the cost is way out of line in my personal opinion. Even if I really, really liked this brew, I would still say that it is way overpriced.

75 cl bottle from 2014 at friend’s home. Appearance: clear golden with really big white head. A lot of carbonation is visible. Aroma: champagne, lavender, mint, some bitter citrus. Taste: high sweetness with low bitterness. Taste goes from fresh to sweet and smooth. Very fruity with notes of peach and mint. Palate: medium body, oily texture with pleasant high carbonation. One of the best beers i’ve ever had and probably my new favorite.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 75cl. Sparkling golden with a minimal fizzy head. Incredibly complex aromas of citrus, herbs, alcohol. Medium bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Sweet fruity character into a bursting fruity alcohol bitter finish. Very nice Champagne yeast character give the beer a tarty dryness. Unique and stunning.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 750ml. A clear sparkling golden beer with a small white head. Very floral aroma with citrics, menthol and alcohol. Taste is bitter with a finish full of herbs and mint. Medium bodied with considerable carbonation and some astringency. Character kind of reminds me of champagne, but with more floral tones. A very complex beer.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: clear pale gold with a tall white head that diminishes rapidly to one finger with good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: apples and pears, spices, white grape must. (8/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: light body, high to lively carbonation, off-dry crisp and lightly tart moderately warming finish. (4/5)
Pretty easy drinking for a massive ABV beast, buoyed by a lively carbonation. I see the champagne comparisons, but unfortunately I think there’s an element of it showing its age (again - the last Bière de Champagne I tried was well past its best-before). Even though it’s four months before its BB date, I think the cidery apple has gone a touch brown, and I can’t help but think this would be nicer - crisper and cleaner - were it fresher. But hey! It’s a 1001 beer, from my local distributor? I don’t remember the last time that happened! (15/20)
