2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 BBB63 (5411) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 28, 2005Well I finally got around to opening this bottle traded to me many moons ago by Matta, served in my NB Flute glass which seems like the right choice given the champagne nature of the brew:
It is very lively and carbonated as expected producing a huge and lasting head, straw hued and very good lace. The aroma has notes of musty yeast esters, lemongrass and heather, light grape and apple notes, and some bready malt character. The taste starts with a yeasty and moldy nature but then a big shock of antiseptic medical flavor really threw my palate for a loop. Any mild fruit notes are lost and it actually does not even resemble champagne either. Disappointing to say the least. The feel is lively up front but the finish is bone dry and astringent as all get out. It is quite warming on the chest after half a bottle. Not worth the cost but I will give credit for trying something different, and the only reason this is getting a score above drain pour level.

Pours a cloudy apple cider colour. Very fizzy. Amazing aromas. Floral, yeasty, citrus, dried spices.... very nice. Sweet and bready... some citrus with a slighty bitter soapy and citrus finish. Bubbly on the palate, yet surprisingly full bodied. Excellent.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MrW (228) - Londerzeel, BELGIUM - MAY 24, 2013
75cl bottle, got it for my birthday.
Aroma is sweet, grain, a bit alcohol, orangezest, bread.
Clear champagnecoloured, loads of sparkling and with a lasting and lacing off-white head.
Very sweet taste, vinous, fruity, orangezest.
Fizzy mouthfeel and a light bitter finish.
It was ok, something newer for me.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mikey (504) - farmington, Utah, USA - MAY 20, 2013
The bottle presentation is beautiful. Pours a clear pale straw color with a white champagne-esque head that settles to larger bubbles. The nose is of light golden fruit with apple, pear, grape, slight citrus and bread. The taste starts with notes of fruity sweetness, spices, funk and yeast with hints of white grapes and pear. The finish is slightly phenolic with pleasant malty flavors in the background. The complexities are more pronounced the warmer it gets.

:D zbf 2013
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Creedence (127) - Cork, IRELAND - MAY 12, 2013
750ml bottle shared with family on my birthday. Pours a lively light golden with a lasting white head. Beautiful aroma of tropical fruit, mint, herbs and caramel. Medium sweetness and light bitterness on tasting, with a nice mix of rhubarb and tropical fruits. Lively, with that sweet boozy and slightly metallic finish synonymous with Brouwerij Bosteels. Quite refreshing at the same time. Absolutely heavenly beer, a great one for a special occasion!

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 DeanF (1545) - Nunavut, CANADA - MAY 5, 2013
I’m a sucker for beers in wine bottles with French names and found this on the North American flatlands somewhere. The aroma is plenty of yeast and lots of sugars, cloying sweetness. Appearance is a clear heavily carbonated body and huge very white head without much density. Flavour is strong caramel and sugar tastes, very excessive, the attempt to get the high ABV showing through far too obviously. Way out of balance. Yucky aftertaste. This is a strong belgian ale way out of balance.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 petibear (47) - - MAY 2, 2013
champagne like beer, even with bubbles like in champagne, beautiful in appearance when served in glass, quickly disappearing head, herbal aroma, light sweet in flavour and finish
