First brewed at Bosteels, transfered to the Champagne region of France were it is treated much like a champagne with the bottles inverted and the yeast expunged and bottle recorked.

This Belgian Strong Ale has a nice grainy aroma and a carbonation that gives it a champaign like appearance. The taste is syrupy on the tongue but doesn’t linger on the palate. Leaving you with a full body beer!

Clear golden pour...thick white head...lively...great retention. Aroma has light ginger and spice...mild sweet fruitness. Flavor follows suit...lots of delicate ginger and spice...getting chamomile...mild sweetness and fruitiness...touch of leather and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is light but very silky and lively with a dry, spicy/gingery finish that dries to earthy/fruity bitterness and warms. Great beer.

Bottle from Lusinka. Pours clear yellow with lots of visible carbonation and huge white head that settled down to a thin and lasting layer. Aroma is floral, grapes, slightly herbal and malty. Taste is very sweet with malt, hops, yeast, honey, alcohol, raisin.

A light yellow beer with a big and white head, lively and bubbling. The nose is very fresh, aromatic and strongly spicy. Flowers, some perfume, light grain, coriander, ginger and hint of lavender. Taste is strongly spicy, coriander, flowers, some black peppers and ginger, fruitness of pear. The end has rose and flowers, also lavender. Slightly boozy when warmer. Medium bodied, sparkling carbonation as in the champagne. Interesting beer that I haven’t taste before this. Sophisticated, aromatic, strong flowers and spices, palate as the champagne. Absolutely worth to try even the high price. Drink cold as suggested thus the alcohol is not bothering and the sweetness is more balanced.

Mostly clear golden color, big bubbly foamy white head. Light sweet malt, light funk, Belgian yeast phenols. Flavor is sweet, spicy, fruity and light, crisp and refreshing.

Bottle, 75cL. Home. Served chilled. A clear golden yellow beer with a huge white head. Many thin bubbles. Good persistence. Fruity aroma (lemon), spices, herbs, alcohol. Heavy silky sugary sweet, light bitter. Full body, oily texture (nearly syrupy in the end), average carbonation, sweet finish. Overall, a good fruity sweet silky beer. A bit disappointed : expensive, good but not outstanding...

Aroma of ripe fruits, yeast, coriander, ginger, perfume, sugar, herbs. Flavour is sickening cloying sweetness, some warming alcohol. Carbonated like a champagne. The more I drank the more I disliked this overrated debacle. Really vile sugary crap made all the more disgusting because of the hefty price tag.

From the 2011 corked, caged bottle that I cracked open to both celebrate my birthday and Rate Beer Review no. 2,000. An attractive pale yellow color erupts into an overflowing white fizzy head and excellent clarity. The aroma is absolutely spectacular and runs a range of sensations. Toasted pale malts, Belgian yeast, coriander, pepper, ginger perhaps, and clove. It delicately tickles the nose like champagne. The body is full. The taste is like the aroma with all those spicy characters, especially the ginger. It finishes clean and slightly dry. Lingering sort of fruitiness at the end.
