This Belgian Strong Ale has a nice grainy aroma and a carbonation that gives it a champaign like appearance. The taste is syrupy on the tongue but doesn’t linger on the palate. Leaving you with a full body beer!

1/14/2007 1:28:19 AM Bottle at home with Trine, Scott and Chris. Very much like champagne, complete with huge foamy head and served into champagne glasses, then mellows into a nice beer. Spicy and fruity, taste of pears. Most extraordinary. Bitter finish.

Bottle, pale gold with a fine head, funky faintly fruity nose, dry-sweet and bitter, with clean farmhouse notes. Lovely.

Bouteille 750ml. Couleur jaune trouble, mousse blanche rappelant le champagne et laissant une belle dentelle. Arôme citronné, céréales, malt, épicé. Goût de malt, alcool, sucré, levure. Carbonatation élevée, corps moyen-dense.

Vintage 2006 Bottle!!! Pours a vibrant deep golden color with virtually no head. Smells wonderfully of peaches, apricot, spices, grass, a touch of pumpkin and a tinge of alcohol. Flavors upfront are slightly musty with a fruity finish. Body is very nice: smooth with moderately low carbonation and a very slight presence of alcohol. Incredible beer.

A clear orange beer with a huge white head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is lovely spicy combined with notes of lemon. I believe I have to rerate this one day.

Hallucinante...

750 mL bottle. 2012 vintage. This one had a thick pellicle in the neck of the bottle, so I figured I had best chill it down and drink it up before it exploded. Luckily, I had enjoyed a clean bottle of this last year (never rated), so I had a point of comparison. I have to say the slight brett character goes a long way to balance out this beer. Slightly hazy blonde with a big white head that fades away fast. Nose is lightly horsey and leathery, mild citrus and sweet grainy malts. Spicy coriander, white grape and candy floss. Still on the sweeter side (wish I gave the brett another 6 months to take hold)! Faint acid on the finish, more fruity than tart. Body is moderate to full, alcohol still perceptible on the finish, highly carbonated with that distinct champagne mouthfeel. Creamy on the tongue. A very enjoyable beer, tainted or not.

Dorata limpida, schiuma bianca che svanisce immediatamente. Aroma di basilico e coriandolo e "sudore". Stesse note al palato, molto carbonata, corpo leggero.

12cl glass at Café Rose Red, Brugge. Clear golden with a modest, bubbely, white head. Rather herbal aroma with modest fruity and yeasty notes and hints of spices. Fairly dry and herbal with nice, prickling carbonation and a moderate bitterness. Tasty and refreshing it is.
