First brewed at Bosteels, transfered to the Champagne region of France were it is treated much like a champagne with the bottles inverted and the yeast expunged and bottle recorked.

Bought a couple of bottles to celebrate a special birthday. It was also the first time I had the chance to taste it. The bottle were cooled (3°Celcius) and served in Champagne glasses. The beer is very carbonated, golden yellow. Foamy which dissapears quiet fast. I smeels sofly, fruity, and reminds me a hint of ginger as well. The flavour is sweet, spicy, some nuts but the palate is very light, I don’t taste any hint of alcohol despite the high ABV. Fantastic replacement for champagne, for special occasions, however, like Champagne, way too expensive to buy it more regulary. In general, it was a very nice experience and my friends did like the beer as well

sparkly, pearls of carbobation. smells fruity, slightly of pear. prickly on the tongue, hints of portwine leatheryness-heaviness, reminds of Radler.

Bottle from LCBO. Aged a year. Very sweet aroma, lemony. Clear golden yellow with little to no head. Very sweet flavour of lelons and sweet melon and a hint of bubblegum.

0.75 l bottle from ’Bierzwerg’, 2013 vintage. Lots of beer runs out of the bottle (too warm?). Clear, golden yellow with a huge, fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Fruity-yeasty, floral aroma of sage, white grapes, peach, ’voltaren’ and gooseberry. Sweetish-yeasty, fruity-floral taste of sage, white grapes, lemon, peach and gooseberry, followed by a medium long, slightly sourish, earthy-yeasty, dry bitter finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very interesting flavours, rather tasty and the alcohol is barely detectable. Good!

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An excellent beer - my first Biere Brut, and was quite surprised. Very high carbonation, just like a sparkling wine, and the colour is similar too, a pale golden. The smell is somewhere between a cider and a sparkling wine, with notes of apples, white grapes, spices. The taste is bitter-sweet and very refreshing.

75 cl bottle, shared. Cuvee 2012, and just past the expiry date (1 Dec. 2015). Cork popped out of the bottle by itself, and there was a little overflow from the bottle. Poured a clear golden color with lots of carbonation, and a white head that didn’t last very long. Aroma’s: fruity, lemon/sourish, slightly vinous, sweet herbs (aniseed?). Retronasal there’s more sweetness, light sweet herbs, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Medium bodied.. Quite a bit carbonation. Flavors linger. Not bad actually.

Bottle at Appellation Wines. Clear golden. Nose is citrus and lemon esters, yeast, honey. Tastes honey, orange, very sweet. Not very beer-like, very sweet. Unusual but nothing worth the price.

Gold with champagne like carbonation and head. Nose was banana bread out of the bottle, becoming oxidized apples as it warmed. Lots of yeast driven spice esters and breadiness dominating flavors. I wouldn’t call this a brut compared to champagne, maybe demisec. Fairly sweet. Slightly hot alcohol in mouth and on finish. Closer to a highly carbonated tripel than a champagne. Interesting but definitely not something I’ll get again for the price of admission.

Champenoise-method beer with excellent ballance on the taste, aroma and appearance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
