2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Murky straw-colored beer with a fizzy white head. Slightly underwhelming nose of sour yeast with a bit of spice. Taste is crisp with a slight sourness initially that builds a bit before ending with a touch of bitterness. Unfortunately, the spices from the aroma do not come through, making this fairly one-dimensional. Itís not bad, but nothing like a good Belgian beer.

This one poured a cloudy bright yellow with a white head. Aroma was of spices, light grain and yeast. Flavor was a bot fruit and sweet follow by spicy yeast. Average for the style.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The color is a bright, clear yellow and there is basically no head and no lace at all. There is Belgian yeast in the aroma, but thereís also a smell like boiled cabbage that I didnít enjoy. I did enjoy the flavor. Itís like a mild pale ale with a Belgian brewerís yeast and a slightly fruity finish. Bananas, vanilla wafers, etc. I liked the flavor more than the aroma.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle: This beer just didnít do much for me. Very light tasting with an unpleasurable bite in the finish. It certainly doesnít taste like it has anywhere near 7.8% alcohol, but I donít think that deserves pushing the rating up. While it is crisp enough to be enjoyed in heat, there are tastier beers if that is what Iím looking for.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: crystal clear medium gold with a short, reluctant bright white head that quickly fades to nothing, leaving not even a hint of lace. Aroma: honeyed grains, notes of grass and yeast, light citrus. Taste: sweet malts, a hint of candi sugar, some toast, with a few citrusy yeast notes. Finish: clean and light, belying the abv, with a bit of mineral astringecy and honeyed dryness. Notes: First one of these I tried, I didnít care for at all, as the mineral bitterness in the finish was off-putting. Second one seemed much more restrained in the finish. Certainly not the best Belgian golden in the DC/VA/MD area (helloooo Brewerís Art Ozzy), but itís fine. Alcohol is well hidden.

12oz bottle, thanks to Andrew for picking this up for me from Beer Run. $2. Labeled 7%. Clear golden color. Thin white head. Loose dots of lace. Smooth, more crisp carbonation. Medium to bigger body. Nice lightly grassy, light tropical fruity hop, some bready malt. Light bitter taste. Some zesty sweet. Good belgian golden ale.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy golden coloured body with a thin, light white head. Aroma of yeast, pale malt, wheat, coriander seed and curacao with a hint of sugars and oranges (full). Medium to Full-bodied; Strong yeastie flavour at first with a good maltiness, some light sweetness and a mild grassy and herbal note that finishes off nicely. Aftertaste shows some yeast and wheat with a little oranges and curacao with a bit of caramel. Overall, a nice and full-flavoured and textured belgie with good sugars and a nice complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virgina 01-August-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 23-December-2012.
