Pint on tap at Southern Railway Taphouse. Opaque black with a lasting ring of cream. Nose is espresso, dark toffee and a touch of dry grass. Tastes of dark caramel, cocoa, coffee and a touch of booze. Medium body has a good balance and low-medium carbonation.

Black/brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Sweet start with a medium/strong coffee and a nice malty bitter finish. Medium bodied but a tad fizzy. still pretty good

Draft at brewpub. Poured a black color with a small, tan head. Aroma was coffee, some roasted malt notes, slight sweetness. Flavor was fresh, sweet coffee, espresso notes. Pretty refreshing despite the 8%.

On draft. Dark brown almost black. Decent head. Coffee is all I taste. Good, just wish it had a little more body.

$4 half pint at the brewery. Saturday at the stringfest on a beautiful warm October day. Beer was a little less than spicy and thin in body. Strong burnt Mexican flavor that is a bit harsh. no chocolate that i could discern. not much beer character can be discerned except for a foamy and nice consistant wave of carbonation.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color, nearly opaque. Medium brown head with good head retention and decent lacing. Aroma is bitter coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and a hoppy finish. Taste is big fresh and bitter coffee notes, strong hoppy finish and faint hops. The coffee is very, very dominant. Thin bodied and very slightly watery.
