From the menu: "25 IBUs. This dark ruby brown lager was recreated using a 1930’s recipe with beer historian Ron Pattison & local beer blogger Alastair Reece. Slight hints of caramel & toffee shine in this early English interpretation of a dark lager." On tap at the brewpub last weekend. Pours a moderate brown color with a good off-white head and some nice lacing on the way down. The nose brings a bready base along with some light caramel and toffee. Faint hint of English hops in the background. The flavor is mostly bready with a touch of caramel. Light body and a light bitterness in the finish. Well made, but nothing that particularly stands out. Serving type: on-tap
