Commercial Description:
A Belgian inspired pale ale that blends the traditional hoppy English IPAs with the layered yeast complexity of Belgian ales. From the heart of darkness, a pale ale of distinquished quality.

Strong barley wheat smell on the nose. Light bodied. Golden color but a bit darker which is something nice. Smooth with malt on the palate along with some barley. Hops are somewhat hidden in there. When this one leaves the scene there is not much left there. Decent beer though.

On tap at the brewpub on 04/19/2009. Clear golden amber body with a medium frothy off-white head. Sweet earthy and floral hop aroma. Sweet grassy and floral hop flavor with belgian spice. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear golden amber color with a thin head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is bready and yeasty with notes of bubblegum, spice and a moderate bitter hop note. Taste is hop forward... spicy and fruity with notes of peach. That is followed by a yeasty bread note. Fruity throughout. Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation.

Medium gold. Yeast oriented nose, definitely Belgian in nature, with some almost hefe-like bubblegum and clove. Flavor is sweet honey accented malts, Belgian yeast, and drying earthy bitterness from the hops. Very interesting stuff, and quite good. Unique, but also very approachable. Really nailed the balance of hops and yeast here.
