At Snallygaster. What a fresh-hop pale ale should be: big pine resin flavors that last and last through the malts. I don’t think of DBB as excelling at these hyper American styles, but this is a winner.

Keg @ Sedona. The pour’s gold with a small head. The nose is slightly subdued. Some resin, marmalade, tree bark. The taste is hugely bitter. Wow, much more assertive than the aroma suggests. Green shoots, biomass, resinous pine. Medium body, fine carb. Bizarre proportions on this.

Draft at brewery. Clean golden hay pour. Very fresh grassy hops. Slightly burned malt taste. Big bitter bite. Weird mix.

Serving: Draft at Fire Works Leesburg. It pours a hazy orange color with a decent white head. Earthy hop nose with soft malt notes. The flavor has a touch of resin with nice citrus notes and a little yeast. Medium bodied with a lingering bitter finish. Pretty solid stuff.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a murky orange color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of fresh grapefruit, citrus, herbal and floral notes, and pale malts. The taste is citrus and resin hops with pale malts. Medium bodied.
