COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This pale bronze beer is medium in body with intense hop flavor and aroma. Our IPA is brewed in the style of the “west coast” with robust hop character coming from American grown varieties of hops. IPA’s are amongst the most popular craft brewed beers as they have moderate strength and tons of flavor. This is not your Grandfathers beer! 5.9% alcohol by volume, 60 IBUs

This is a quality IPA. The bitterness is in line with West Coast beers, quite strong with sort of a pine essence. It’s good but not my favorite.

12 oz bottle date stamp indicates bottling In June 2013: about 6 weeks ago. Pours a clear, light amber with a generous, thick and very durable head. S: Quite hoppy, as expected for a recent vintag IPA, The piney and citrus components are strongest, buth there are some earthy and herbal notes too. Some malt shows as well. T: Hop forward, as expected, but if anything more hoppy than expected. M: Smooth, medium+ body with good carbonation. Clearly above average for style.

Bottle. Caramel malt, citrus-piney and soapy hops aroma. Clear brassy gold with a huge off-white head. Grainy caramel malt and piney-herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Bottle @ Citizen Burger, C’ville. The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is caramel, pine cone. Coniferous forest. Resin. the taste is strong bitter pine. Notes of marmalade, more caramel. Quite woody and dry on the finish. Mildly astringent, bitter. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a solid effort. Quite good.

On tap at Fuel DC. Orange bold body with medium head. Nose is hoppy and citrus. Tate is clean hops, citrus, oranges, caramel. Nice crisp and prickly texture. Hammy notes. Well done.

Clear golden-yellow body, medium sized off-white head, spotty lacing. Perfumey citrus, assorted grainy malts, medium bodied, slightly sweet in the finish, mellow bitterness.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a crystal-clear golden color. This produces lots of head, about three fingers high, and shaded barely off-white. It fades to about one finger in a short time, featuring a decently frothy texture. Nice sheets of lacing are left behind. S: I note a lot of Simcoe hops, providing mango, melon, pine, and catty notes. Biscuity malt comes out the more it warms up. A good aroma, not an amazing one. T: This opens with slight mango and melon notes. Touches of biscuity malt fills out the middle, before it finishes with a moderate hop bitterness, both piny and herbal. The back end in particular offers a strange grassy bitterness to it; this quality is probably why I don’t like this more. M: Good crispness, but a bit heavy in texture. This would be quite drinkable if the herbal finish didn’t rub me the wrong way. Carbonation is non-intrusive. O: While I’m thankful to see a relatively local IPA hit the market, it just can’t compete with the heavy hitters in the style. There’s too much weird bitterness for me to love this. Not horrible, but I wouldn’t seek out again.

Huh, can’t believe I haven’t rated this one yet. Oh well. Pours gold with a big fluffy white head, heavy lacing. Big, grassy hops aroma. Nice, assertive bitterness that isn’t overwhelming. Well-balanced sticky and dry finish. Great, solid west coast style from the mountains in the east!

Brought up to NH by my brother thanks! Drank out of the bottle. Smell is malty with a bit of grapefruit. Taste pretty much follows, but the hop bitterness is intense. A bit of resin and pine finishes it off. Dry finish. Solid IPA.

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear golden-orange color with a thin off-white head. Mild lacing. Aroma is a pungent lemon-lime hoppiness that slightly stings the nostrils. Flavor is quite bitter, with a slight citrusy feel. Palate is light to medium with a lasting bitter finish. Tasty, but not my favorite IPA by any means.
