3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at State Line. Pours a clear golden color with a dense white bubbly head, with good retention and plenty of lacing. Faint aromas of floral and herbal hops along with toasted white bread maltiness. Taste of hops carry the beer with ripe grapefruit and lemony citrus notes, while pale malts do a good job of adding heft and light sweetness. Well carbonated and medium bodied.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft in Georgetown.
The beer is clear and golden with an inch of white head. The aroma brings bitter hops, pine, a touch of floral character. Certainly a hop forward offering with ample bitterness throughout, finishing dry. Alcohol presence is noticeable and I was surprised to find that this beer was less than 6% ABV. A decent offering and example of the style, but not something I feel I need to have again. A middle of the pack IPA with no distinguishing traits.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a quality IPA. The bitterness is in line with West Coast beers, quite strong with sort of a pine essence. It’s good but not my favorite.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle date stamp indicates bottling In June 2013: about 6 weeks ago.
Pours a clear, light amber with a generous, thick and very durable head.
S: Quite hoppy, as expected for a recent vintag IPA, The piney and citrus components are strongest, buth there are some earthy and herbal notes too. Some malt shows as well.
T: Hop forward, as expected, but if anything more hoppy than expected.
M: Smooth, medium+ body with good carbonation. Clearly above average for style.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a crystal-clear golden color. This produces lots of head, about three fingers high, and shaded barely off-white. It fades to about one finger in a short time, featuring a decently frothy texture. Nice sheets of lacing are left behind.
S: I note a lot of Simcoe hops, providing mango, melon, pine, and catty notes. Biscuity malt comes out the more it warms up. A good aroma, not an amazing one.
T: This opens with slight mango and melon notes. Touches of biscuity malt fills out the middle, before it finishes with a moderate hop bitterness, both piny and herbal. The back end in particular offers a strange grassy bitterness to it; this quality is probably why I don’t like this more.
M: Good crispness, but a bit heavy in texture. This would be quite drinkable if the herbal finish didn’t rub me the wrong way. Carbonation is non-intrusive.
O: While I’m thankful to see a relatively local IPA hit the market, it just can’t compete with the heavy hitters in the style. There’s too much weird bitterness for me to love this. Not horrible, but I wouldn’t seek out again.
