On tap at SAVOR 2011. Served in a goblet.
Pours a clear, sparkling golden color with a large and fizzy white head. Plenty of spotty lacing on the way down. The nose is pretty tame -- mostly grainy with some light floral and grassy notes. The flavor bumps things up, having those same components but adding in a bit of citrus and earthy yeast. Light sweetness on a light body. Fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Nice beer.

Draft as Devil’s Backbone Azreal. Poured a hazy golden color with a tiny white head. Aroma was mellow fruit notes, with a touch of spice. Flavor was, well - a bit on the bland side, but the beer may have simply been too cold. Notes of candi sugar and spices began to came out.

Draft. Pours a pale gold with an effervescent white head. Finding the nose on this was very difficult. The most I could get was a slight dusty note. Almost no carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. A hint of green apple, a tart citrus note, alcohol, and an overall taste that reminded me of a pinot grigio. Short finish. It hides it’s alcohol pretty well, but lacks the complexity and wow factor I expect from good Belgian ales.
