A striking gold color, light bodied with subtle, bready malt flavors. A quenching, crisp and dry finish. Gold Medal 2009 and 2010 Great American Beer Festival, International Style Pilsner Bronze Medal 2012 Great American Beer Festival

Draft at the Basecamp Brewery The lager poured a clear golden color with a small white head that dissipated to a white collar. Limited lacing as the head receded. The aroma was of caramel malt and light bread. The lager had a light body and average carbonation. This is a tasty lager, much better than most.

Pours a golden color with a medium sized foamy head. Notes of fresh baked bread, some honey, and grassy hops.

Can. Pours a clear gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin wispy film. The nose is pretty decent, some bready and crackery maltiness under a light grassy German hoppiness. The flavor is a bit sweeter than I’d like for the style, and the hops are more muted than I’d like to see as well. I want a dry malt base and a bright snappy hoppiness from a Helles. The residual sweetness adds a bit of flab to the mouthfeel as well, soft light carbonation. Minimal bitterness on the finish. It’s not a bad beer, but it doesn’t hit the spot for me.

At the brewpub and on tap elsewhere (tasted from my wife’s glass). Well, a light lager that isn’t lagered long enough to develop the classic aroma profile. This has won awards, which underlines the paucity of lagers with lagered aroma profiles in the US. Not a bad beer if you drink light lagers but this isn’t particularly good.

Pours a clear beerish with a decent head. Smells like a nice lager. Flavor is the same. It’s a bit sweet, maybe floral. But it’s nice.

Bought a six pack as I wanted an easy drinking beer that was not light. Hit on all cylinders with the right beer for the BBQ.

Can. Nose thin and lightly chalky pils malt, pours a fizzy and noisy off-white head atop an ultra-clear golden. Taste semi-sweet and again lightly chalky, all kinds of nice grassy and juicy/lemony noble hop character, very lightly spicy also in that way; light but clean bitterness, gentle flavor all over, touch of green grape, very light body is very soft and quenching, light crispness despite the earlier fizz and nice refreshment. Would drink this frequently if it were easy to get. Finally, I got to try a good beer today!

4 oz draft pour served in a wine glass at B Side. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, sweet malt, light corn. Tastes of citrus, malt, wheat. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation. Pretty good for what it is.

Appearance: clear gold with no head; the can has a terrible color palette and artwork that was almost illegible. I’m all in favor of canned craft, but they need to go back to the design board on this one. Aroma: faint aroma of crackers, light grassy hops. Taste: lightly toasted white bread, hint of honey, grass, and lemon. Finish: mineral water, light cracker. Notes: Wholly unremarkable and almost criminally underhopped for the style. Given my heretofore excellent experience with just about everything these guys put out, seems like a rare miss.

Pretty unremarkable lager in general. Only faintest sense of barley profile and not even that crisp of a finish. Tap at smoke and barrel.
