3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear deep orange color with a light head. Medium body, but thick; pumpkin pie is correct as this has a little sweetness with the cloves and nutmeg. A good flavorful pumpkin.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light copper coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall tan head that fades fairly fast. Aroma of strong pumpkin, light spices, some caramel and toffee and a good nutty maltiness. Medium-bodied; Strong pumpkin and squash flavours with hints of alcohol, toffee, pumpkin pie spice and a hint of extra nutmeg - more squash than anything else. Aftertaste shows a good balance and more emphasis on the squash maltiness and the alcohol - not so much spice or sweetness at all. Overall, a decent beer - if you like pumpkins, try this, or if you dislike the spices in typical beers of the season - try this, a very refined and subtle balance makes for a nice beer without an overload of spices. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Eye St - Foggy Bottom) on 14-September-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 30-November-2013.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Light but muddy pour of reddish amber. Almost no head whatsoever. Warming, orchard-like aroma of autumn here ... drinks with the mellowest of pumpkin characters, easy going and quaffable. Fits the fall weather in Virginia quite nicely, watching football. (#5287, 10/13/2013)

Fairly dry pumpkin ale. Lightly spiced, with a bit of pumpkin and a pretty nice aroma. Pleasant enough, but nothing special.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. "Boned" on: 08/27/13. A clear copper pour with a skim of a beige head. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, pumpkin, caramel, and some bready malts dominate the aroma. Some molasses is noticeable as things warm up a bit. Fairly thin-bodied on the way down. Caramel and brown sugar start things off taste-wise. Pumpkin and a little molasses in the middle. The aforementioned spices overwhelm the tail-end. There is a strange burnt breadiness present from start to finish. Not bad.

Draft sample at brewpub. One of the standouts of the day. Solid pumpkin ale. Pours orange. Spicy, cinnamon nose. Sweet and spicy, cinnamon and allspice, very spice-rack forward with nice sweetness to balance it out.
