COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true to form Irish-style dry stout, black in color, mediun in body with a finish that is full of roasted malt flavored. Poured off of nitrogen for a smooth creamy stout experience.

On tap at the Old Line Pub, tap takeover from DB. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Malty aromas with coffee and chocolate. Nitro stout with almost no carbonation. Pretty good!

7/18/2014. On tap at the brewery. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Malty aromas with coffee and chocolate. Nitro stout with almost no carbonation and my favorite of the beers I tasted while visiting.

Pours a warm sable with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma has a core of roast malt that supports chocolate, molasses and quality coffee notes. Flavor echoes all of the aroma’s notes, adding a smoky tone. Texture seems a bit thin for a stout, but has good fizz.

Draft at restaurant. Perfect tall head from a nitro pour. Dry lighter stout but for style excellent taste and balance. Very good

Serving: Draft at MacDowell Brew Kitchen. It pours black with a light tan head. Subdued aroma (thanks to the nitro). Light roasted notes. The flavor has a slight earthy, roasted malt note with a solid bakers chocolate coming through. Nice dry finish. Very solid for the style.

Nitro @ Devil’s Backbone. The pour’s deep brown with a thick khaki head. The nose is toasted malts. Sharp cocoa. Mellow chocolate syrup. The taste is roasted malt, more cocoa. Mild hoppy bitterness. Dry finish. Nice, well-rounded stuff. Medium body, quite smooth. Overall, a really nice effort.

Served on nitro. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and subtle black earth. Brown-black with a fully lasting, satiny, khaki head. Dry and roasty. Light, refreshing, smooth, clean, and with lingering roasty flavors.

Draft. Pours like a dark chocolate milkshake. Great, tan, thick nitro head. Not much aroma, a little roast and chocolate. Taste is creamy milk chocolate. Slightly bitter with a fudgy finish. Real easy drinking.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours a black with a tan head. Aroma is smoky, roasted malts. This is a straight up weird dry stout, as it was significantly more smoky than any other that I have had. The texture was much the same as most others, but the flavour was much more in line with those of Sweden than those of Ireland. In any case, it was an excellent beer.

Prominent coffee nose, sweet. Clear brown, medium tan head, thorough glass coating. Coffee flavor, finishes with cardboard. Mouthfeel is thin, alcohol well masked. Lightly tart.
