A German-style black lager. Hints of caramel and coffee blend in this light to medium dark lager. Do not let the color fool you, this beer goes down very easy. May the schwartz be with you!

Mushroomy barley, bread, and charcoal nose, like the inside of a pizza oven. Cola brown, thin yellow head. Light body. Charcoal flavor, but not dry, as there is a subtle touch of sweet malt to awaken the taste buds. Finishes dry. Very easy to drink and true to style.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2011 Nearing the end of the "lost" ratings. Deep brown, slight head. Light roast malt aromas. Slightly astringent. Coffee flavor, rather light bodied. Coffee flavor finishes. A bit thin for my preference. RERATE: 08/13/11. Special thanks for providing a sixtel of this at CAH downtown during Dominion Cup! Better than I remember, more full-bodied, more emphasis on coffee notes. Quite enjoyable.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle at Fire Works Leesburg. It pours a cola like color with a thin tan head. The nose is all roasted malt with a hint of smoke. The flavor has a nice chocolate note, lots of roasted malt, some earth, and a very subtle sweetness. Nice, crisp finish. Great brew.

Bottle. Pours clear black with a touch of red. Small tan fizzy head that dissipates quickly with decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, toffee, a touch of smoke, lager yeast. Flavor is much the same, light sweetness and light bitterness with a mix of coffee and grassy notes. Finish is dry. Light to medium body, prickly carbonation.
