Black color & full bodied. Complex dark malt flavors blended with fruity & spicy weizen yeast notes. The name was born from a highly evolved literary conversation; then a beer was formulated "to do it justice. Prepare to be crushed by deliciousness!"

Deep dark brown colorued body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, grapes, tobacco, light yeast and a touch of a banana and clove element. Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with a lot of wheat, grain and yeast flavours showing some roast, earth and a musty flavour. Aftertaste shows more malt and wheat than anything else, but a touch of the booze comes out near the end. Overall, a fairly muted and unassuming beer that doesn’t have any complexity or depth in flavours. Decent enough, but not showing much at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 04-March-2016 for US$1,75 sampled at home in Washington on 25-May-2016.

Bottle. Black in color. Very large head. Aroma is dark roasted grains with hints of tropical fruits. Taste is like burnt toast, roasted nuts and roasted grains with hints of bananas and spice. Nice.

Bottle. Deep ebony hue with brown sugar head not long for this world. Enticing aroma--caramelized banana, smoked raisins, fruity wheat, smooth alcohol. The flavor has the same odd but interesting flavor juxtaposition, balancing burnt toast and dried banana before a slightly smoky, bitter chocolate finish. Body is a little thinner than I’d like for the style, but soft. Intriguing brew.

Bottle from Whole Foods Arlington. Dark black body with thin tan head. Nose is malty, toasty, spicy. Flavour of malts, caramel, some chocolate, nice and dark and spicy. Really good stuff! Creamy texture.

Pours dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma is bready malt with some roasted notes and clove yeast and light bannana fruitiness. Flavor is sweet roasted malt with some bready malt flavors with dark fruit. Followed by yeast flavors of cloves and bananna. Finishing with some roasted flavors. Not one of my favorite styles but this one is pretty good. The 8% is nicely masked.

Raisin and clove nose, mild. Mahogany., thin tan head. Clove, plum, dry. Medium body, moderate carbonation. I had this on draft and found it had more weizen character, with more abundant fruit esters and residual sweetness. From the bottle this drinks more like a Belgian brune, but still with weizen spice. I liked the draft better.

Clean dark pour with a slight haze and two fingers of dark tan head. Nose shows burnt toast and banana with a light sweetness and toasted grain note. Burnt toast and isoamyl acetate in the flavor. A touch dextrinous in the flavor. Light bodied and dry.
