An aromatic amber lager with a slight hazy appearance. Caramel and smoke flavors come from the use of Beech wood smoked malt from Bamberg. You’ll enjoy savory flavors reminiscent of bacon.

Pint on tap. Clear, shiny copper body has a small spit and ring of creamy foam. Light bacon and brown sugar nose. Tastes the same with some dry grassy hop on the finish. Light-medium body has a great balance and a pleasant low-medium carbonation. Not a lot of smoke but this is one of the better smoked lagers I’ve had outside the Brauerei Heller brews.

On tap at Churchkey. Medium brown pour with a slight tan head. Aromas of campfire, slight maltiness. Taste is smokey and malty. Not overpowering though. The beer was great with their pizza.

Draft at Snallygaster 2014. Handed to me, with some hesitation, I took my first sip. This poured a yellow color with a medium sized slightly off-white head. I wanted to avoid this beer, it’s a smoked beer. Not my favorite style. However, this particular brew was a nice light lagered beer, with some very mild smoke notes that didn’t overpower it nearly as much as I expected. Like a light bbq or mild beef jerky. Decent.
