Dark Porter. This medium bodied deep brown ale was brewed with beech wood smoked malt, oak smoked wheat malt, brown malt and chocolate malt for a rich smoky character reminiscent of bacon & coffee. 6.0% abv, 22 IBUs

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 11/21/12

Aroma: The aroma has some smoked malts, a little bit of oak, and some coffee as well
Appearance: This one pours a medium-to-dark brown color with a nice beige head
Flavor: This one has a nice smokey flavor with a little bit of bacon and a hint of coffee
Palate: This one has a nice creamy feel on the mouth and a medium-plus body
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid Smoked Porter. The smoke doesn’t completely overpower everything else, which is nice. I really didn’t have too many complaints at all. If you like Rauchbiers/Smoked Malts/Porters, you’ll most likely enjoy this one.
