3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can: thanks, Chris! Goldenrod & yellow body, slight chill haze over mild clarity with a foamy white head that settles as quick as it rises. Aroma has mild floral notes, grassy hops, faint pepper, mild citric presence (old grapefruit peel, faint)... Slightly tame & one-dimensional, but still nice. Taste isn’t as heavily bitter as expected... Pale malts & a touch of faintly sweet bread pave the way for grassy, leafy hops, a touch of white pepper, earthy & dirty tones, & a mild bit of sulfur on the back-end.

Pretty decent pale ale. A little more masculine of a pale ale, but pretty surprising for a pale ale from Virginia.

In can at Cantler’s in Annapolis, MD. Golden with white head. Some malt and citrus aroma. Light caramel malt flavor and citrus hop flavor. Very pleased with this brew. Good summertime beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. The pour’s clear light gold with a robust, creamy white head. The nose is herb-brushed pear, peach. Soft citrus. Not particularly vibrant. The taste is more interesting. Pacific citrus hops. Assertive bitterness. A touch of salt. Biscuit. Nice and light, nimble. Pretty dry on the finish. Overall, solid stuff.

Can pour..1 finger head that goes away..light golden hue.surprisingly not very carbonated at all..aroma is bready malt..slight sweetness with some citrus characteristics lemon mostly..mouthfeel is alright but not much to it..would like more presence from everything..hoping to try more of the devils backbone repertoire soon as they make more inroads into md..does taste quite fresh and refreshing and this would be a good apa to enjoy straight from the vessel..

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a clear deep golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is a very pleasant light citrus aroma with a mild malt background. Flavor is a bit disappointing, with a light bitterness mixed with an almost lager-like characteristic. Light in body with a lingering lager flavor in the finish. Not my favorite pale by any means.

On draft at Frisco’s Taphouse. Poured golden with minimal head. Sweet, mildly hoppy. Rather bland.
