3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A mild malty Vienna with an earthy toasty malt and balanced profile. Pours clear brown with a one-finger ring of head. A hint of coppery noble twang in the finish is pleasant. Features a toasty fade. An excellent food pairing beer because of its relative neutrality. Try it with some Sauerbraten.

Bottle from GBBF 2015 and drunk at home. Darkish reddish brown clear lasting beige head. Some lager yeast/malt on the aroma, touch of spice. In the mouth it’s got some sweetness, some more spice. Clean finish. Some hop, some spice. It’s fine. Quite enjoyable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
on tap @ Devil’s Backbone / Roseland VA --- Clear medium orange amber color, beige head cover, spots and dots of lace. Taste is mild malt that coasts through the palate to a lightly bittered finish. Almost watery at the onset, and, coupled with weak carbonation, this brew needs some help.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours dark amber, clear, small white head but no retention, head disappeared completely after a couple of minutes. Aroma of biscuits and malts combined with some caramel. Taste is sweet, and is mostly grain and malts. While it is nothing truly special about, it is a well made beer, true to the style and quite drinkable.

On tap from the Chesapeake Inn after a good day of boating. Amber pour. Thick sweet malty complexion. Caramel and toast. Hits the basics well. Better drinking than a Lager.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Newport News, Va - 2nd Street American Bistro - on tap. Slightly hazy medium copper with a bubbly off white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Aroma has some cake mix sweetness, a touch of cherry juice. Flavor has some caramel notes, a touch of sweet cake batter, some pomegranate fruitiness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Fairly decent. Nice accompaniment to the Mediterranean Salmon I had for dinner.
