Average brew, but pretty good for a local brewery. I would say that it would pass for a standard vienna lager.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dogbrick (6058) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 9, 2013
This brew pours a clear copper color with a thin and fizzy white head that evaporates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, hay and honey. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, molasses and nuts. The finish is sweet with a roasted malt and grass aftertaste. Decent overall.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Darwenus (386) - Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2013
A rusty orange body with a spotty, somewhat soapy head. The aroma was a mild malt and the flavor was more of the same. It actually reminded me a little of Yuengling’s standard lager, but without quite as much character. Not awful, not amazing.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Coastie (13) - Carrollton, Virginia, USA - APR 28, 2013
Tasted from draft at Texas Roadhouse in York County. Nice amber color with white head which left a nice lace all the way down the glass.. Strong hop aroma. Crisp, hoppy flavor with a good finish. Will happily order again.

Tap at Annapolis 5K Beer Run. Pours dark copper/amber with thin, off-white head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, raisins, dates, sweetbread, and some floral hops. Flavor is sweet malts forward with supporting dark fruit esters, light floral hops, and light toffee; dry, lightly sweet finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

Enjoyed on tap at the Camel in Richmond, VA prior to playing a fest show with my band. Appearance is a dark slightly cloudy amber with a thin white rim around the glass. Aroma is not too apparent, nothing much from a smell perspective. Taste goes down nice, cold and smooth, nothing jumps out about this one and its just decent. Happy to have tried this though.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 rangerred (663) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 2, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear lighter brown with a soapy half finger head that quickly disappears. No lacing or head retention whatsoever which is a little odd considering the abundant carbonation.
The aroma is on the weak side but has caramel and toasted malt coming through along with a little bit of hay and grass.
Caramel on the taste with a little bit of toast, prunes, and grass. It all just falls away so quick however leaving nothing but a light bitterness on the tongue. Extremely disappointing as I was hoping for much more flavor but Boston Lager has more taste than this. Mouthfeel is extremely watery with almost a seltzer water-like feel.
Overall, a real disappointment. I had never heard of this brewery but was hoping I might find a hidden gem. Alas it was not to be.

Lovely red-amber ale with a light sweetness, easy drinking and uncomplicated but with a robust enough spicy bitterness to make a statement. Could be a regular favorite if I lived nearby.

From a bottle. Medium brown with a thin head. Very bitter, dry, grapefruit taste. Smells like malt and walnuts. Light body and medium carbonation.
