Drinking from a bottle of DOA IPA - I’m pretty certain that this is my first Mexican brewed IPA. (Old brain, mine.) It has a nice look to it, an amber/bronze body with a creamy off-white head. The nose has plenty of citrus, orange and tangerine with a bit of zest, along with a light grainy sweetness. The malt continues into the flavor, but the beer tastes mainly of the hops, the juicy fruit giving way to a zest and pip flavor and bitterness. And the bitterness is sturdy, happy me. The finish is dry with a prolonged zest/pip bitterness. I’m glad that I like this one.

Rated blind. Here are my notes: copper golden pour with off white head. Slight fruit aroma and booze. Malty up front, tropical fruits, hoppy. Grapefruit pine and bitter finish. Nice bitter lingering finish.

11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy copper color with a big, frothy white head of foam. The aroma has dank pine and herbal qualities. The taste is dry, earthy bitterness, with just a touch of citrus fruits coming through midway through the taste. Medium to high carbonation. Medium body.

Poured from. Bottle it is. Hazy golden color with a slight head. The aroma is menthol.; the taste is strong and bitter that lingers and becomes more grapefruity

Poured a slightly opaque orange color with a thick white head that had good retention. Aroma was a mix of hops nice pine notes upfront some tropical fruits and a floral quality. Caramel malts were mild. Flavor was all hops with pine being the strongest component. A very dry finish. Enjoyed it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle split at JF’s, 11/09/14, thanks to Jimbo. Hazed golden amber with a good sized off white covering. Nose is light citric, grain, bready, orange. Taste comprises caramel malt, bitter citric rind, muted hops, tangy orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a trace of chemicals. So so IPA, pretty rough and ready, very bitter but no balance.
