11.2 oz bottle, thanks brenn79. Aroma is doughy, chalky, bready--pretty muted. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a medium white head with good retention. Taste starts out sweet before turning bitter. No real hop characteristics other than the bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium. Not bad, much better than the first time I tried it. It’s nice to see Mexico producing good beer!

Bottle - Pours a cloudy, light orange with light carbonation. Aroma of sweet orange. Light flavors with some bitterness. OK for a beer south of the border.

ALLOVATE (2619) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 29, 2015
Dull amber and bright with a dense and compact foam. Bitter grapefruit and tangelos on the nose with a sweet, sticky cumulative conserve note coming through. Massive bitterness of hops is raw and lasting on the palate. The fruit of the nose comes through to give it balance whilst underneath there is a honeyish malt base to keep it grounded. Good body with a cteamy to oily texture. At 5.9% ABV it has a bit of an alcohol kick. Nice length of supple, sweet citrusy fruits. Very solid drinking. I liked it! Very clear amber colour with sizeable white head. Very sweet malty aroma, with floral and grassy hop notes. The taste is not good. Initial malty ’hop soup’ sweetness but the bitterness is overly harsh and sharp and finishes cardboard like. Light bodied. Disappointing.

Originally rated on 9/10/14. Hazy golden orange color, one finger white head, with decent lace. Smell is of sweet honey malts, bread, citrus notes with some pine. Taste is bitter and citrusy, grapefruit, sweet malts mid palate, caramel in the finish. Low carbonation, medium body. Overall its not too bad.

Overall, not bad, not great. Piney, malty. Both ends of the spectrum stand out here. Not something I’d make a go-to, but not sad I tried it.

Copper looks, brief, thin white head. No lace. Medium body, a pleasant bitterness in the first few sips that never gets balanced by the rest of the citrusy notes. Not very complex. Not pretentious either. Would drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml. Clear, shiny copper with a lasting meringue of foam on top. Nose is earthy orange toffee and husky, toasted grain with a touch of resin. Flavors of orange toffee, dry cocoa, stale apple and bitter nut with a long-lasting finish of lacquered cardboard. Light-medium body has medium carbonation and a good balance.

Bottle from Joe Canals Fire Rd. Poured a clear deep amber with large clinging bubbles and a smaller foamy mostly white head. Aroma is far more sweet wort tha hops, notes of caramel and amber malts, citrus fruits in plastic bags, limon, some chilled dough. Body seemed thin at first sip but then normalized, medium mouthfeel with large bubbly carbonation. Flavor of rotten citrus fruits, bread, toast, citrus rinds, caramel and molasses candies. Meh.
