3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a smallish tan head that disappears quickly. Nose has some definite roasting and coffee notes in there. Taste has the bitterness you expect from a strong black coffee. Decent drink.

From a bottle, Pours black with beige head dispersing quickly. Chocolate notes in aroma, some roast notes. Body is seems over carbonated and light for a porter. Some good roast flavors and slightly nutty. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A creamy porter, this dark ale has an average head. The malt is pronounced, with a good caramel taste. Hops are very light and subtle. It is enjoyable for those who don’t like much hops.

11/23/13. 12oz bottle - thanks, Brent! Black pour with a small khaki head. Sweet aroma, butterscotch, coffee, meh. Dry chalky flavor, butterscotch, buttery, leaves a slick mouthfeel. Diacetyl methinks. Not great.

Pretty okay porter. Sweeter malts in the nose. Maybe hazelnut and toffee. Standard porter taste, sweet and malty still. Easy drinking.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle stamped with a 12 July 2014 Best By date served in a snifter. Poured a very dark mahogany; clear with a small tan head and decent lacing. No sign of sediment.
The aroma is mainly of dark malts; slightly smokey with hints of roasted nuts and dark fruits.
Taste: similar to aroma, but lacking the power or depth it suggests.
Feel: smooth with a bit of dryness; good carbonation level.
O: Tasty. One of the better Mexican beers I’ve had. .

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Understated smell of roasted barley and hint of chocolate. Tan head and minimal lace. Really good taste of chocolate malt and cocoa. Cocoa lingers. Mildly bitter. A bit thin. Overall a good porter as porters go.

Cola colored beer with a brown head. Aromas of cocoa and dark coffee. Tastes smoky with some dark coffee/chocolate flavors and an earthy profile. A bit "meaty" too, thick beer, and viscous. Bittersweet burnt malt finish. Enjoyable, a solid porter.
