3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was smoky and musty. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of smoky mild hops and brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2014 Bottle, 330ml. A dark beer with a small reddish hue and a foamy head that fades away almost completely after a minute or two. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and some sour hints. Taste is bitter and well-balanced. It has a strong roasted character with medium carbonatation and astringency. It is a complex beer and my favorite from Dia de Muertos. Probably the only one I will buy again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 330ml. Almost opaque black with the slightest of reddish/brownish hues and a thin, fizzy brown head that fades quickly. Strong roasted aroma with the characteristic sour waterness of a porter. Hints of grass, dry fruits, dark chocolate and spices. Smooth and creamy, with medium to high carbonation that really brings the beer to life. Rich roasted character with a subtle bitterness, though the finish is weak. Probably the best Dia de los Muertos.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light caramels on the nose after a smooth pour resulting in very little but resilient head with minimal lacing.
Appears thick and dark as expected but has some translucence at the top.
Malty with typical caramels and very light smoke with a clean finish aided by mild carbonation.
All in all, a very average porter that neither disappoints nor impresses.
