2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
taster @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque black with a thick tan rim head, a few dots of lace. Taste is mild toasted malt that is quickly joined by bitter chocolate. Both drift unchanged to a light medium finish. Thin and watery, but it’s drinkable if there is nothing better.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: near black, caramel colored edges, virtually no head. Aroma: light roast coffee and chocolate. Taste: roasty, with light chocolate, light black licorice, light cola, light chicory (in other words, all flavors were light). Finish: clean and short, high carbonation. Notes: Slightly better than average; came in a sneaky 11.2-oz bottle. Had at Quench! in Silver Spring, MD.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
"No delicate coffee or roasted malts here, just an overbearing and rather unpleasant abundance of caramel. WTF? Tasted and smelled off. Not sure what’s going on. Didn’t finish."

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is toasted malt, chocolate, and coffee with a touch of grassy hops. The appearance is almost black. The taste is like the aroma but watery and slightly off. The palate is average but slightly thin for a porter. Overall not bad and very much to style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was smoky and musty. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of smoky mild hops and brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.
