Not a bad porter at all. Has a nice chocolate taste and a little toasted coffee. Overall decent

Bottle: Pours black....with a small, dark tan head. Chocolate, mild licorice aroma. Taste is flat cola, cocoa. A little watery....a bit plain.... Taste is pretty good, though a little diluted.

[Bottle] Pours a deep brown color with a very small amount of head on top. Roasted malt in the aroma. Flavors include lots of licorice, roasted grains, ash, tobacco and sweet chocolate. Thin body takes away from the flavors here. There are also some artificial sweetener notes that I wasn’t a fan of.

Note: my sample of this beer was a few months past the 'best by' date; a friend was just gonna throw it out, but I figured I'd give it a try. From a solo bottle, this unusual porter pours a murky brown color, some ruby highlight. Fizzy head. Smells surprisingly delicious, with plenty of roasted malt, dry chocolate, coffee, caramel, appetizing! However this did not pan out into that impressive of a flavor, mostly fizzy chocolate-cola watery, unpleasant sugariness. Flavors seem more artificial, I'm getting the impression this is just a Tecate owned faux-microbrew. My negative notes on the taste and texture seem to corroborate with other reviewers, so i don't think I have just a bad bottle. In summary, a light macro porter from Mexico, exotic but not craft quality.

Bottle 330ml (ABM)
Deep brown color, small beige head. Aroma has soya sauce, milk, cola candy and coffee. Medium-bodied. Flavor is mainly cardboard and aspartame. Fizzy. Light milky cocoa toastyness. Short finish. Doesn’t feel fresh or not "aged" very well. D’uh.

Very dark with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, milk, and caramel. Tastes a little roasty and sweet; a bit like burnt molasses; but the flavor is anything but robust like I hope for in a porter. Pretty light bodied and a bit fizzy. Smells and looks good but otherwise pretty weak.

Bottle at a random bar. Pours black--laces okay, roasted malts in the aroma, simple, average. Very mediocre porter--average taste, very unassuming. Actually, the palate is medium-light for the style with a tapering aftertaste. Good beer, not great. A light porter.

Opaque black beer with a bubbly brown head which soon disappears altogether. Earthy malt aroma with some burnt toffee in there too. Flavour is quite light. It’s a touch watery but it’s not bad and pretty drinkable. There’s a short, sharp fruit hit when you first taste it but it settles into being a light malty thing with a sweet aftertaste.

Bottle. Creamy aroma with faint licorice and hazelnuts and faint red fruit. Opaque with clear, ruddy brown highlights and a thin patch and collar of tan bubbles. Flavour is slightly tart with roasted barley, licorice, and brown sugar. Very low bitterness and peanut and raspberry notes. Medium light body, moderate to medium carbonation, midway been crisp and smooth.
