Not a bad porter at all. Has a nice chocolate taste and a little toasted coffee. Overall decent

11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a dark brown with a beige head of foam around the edge of the glass. The aroma has notes of cocoa, charcoal, ash, roast. Taste is a muted, ashy, sweetness. Finishes a touch bitter. A very ashy beer. Medium to high carbonation.

A crafty Mexican beer. Black body no head or lacing. Aroma is kind of nice cocoa and milk also a bit burnt smelling. Taste is a let down. A touch of cocoa powder and roast but really watery. Not a lot of flavour. Well below average porter.

Bottle, twist off, and this one fairly easy to manage. Nose of roast and mocha, sweet and sticky chocolate notes not far behind, lightly scorched, some mild fruit in the bg. Pitch pour with a fizzy light brown head. Crisp and roasty medium-full body with light mocha and really pleasant soft roast into the finish. Off-dry with quickly-fading fruit sweetness, but the chocolate has also backed off; some coffee. Touch buttery but otherwise clean, refreshes, just wish it were a bit fuller.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. pours a deep brown, with a small tan head that quickly fades. Minimal lacing. Nose is very faint dark malt. Taste is watery , with a bare hint of dark malt. Not much flavor here. Would not buy again.

Appearance: pours with a medium dark tan head that settles into a small head, the beer is black except when you hold it up to the light you get some maroon hues Aroma: flowers, some dark coffee, faint Taste: some dark roasted malt, light bitterness on the finish, Palate: average carbonation, light mouthfeel, faint bitter aftertaste Overall: a very tame porter, not much dark malt flavor or bitterness, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appropriately black appearance with a large tan head that left little lacing. Muted aroma offered up a but of roasted malt and caramel. Sweet, subdued flavors offset by an earthy, herbal aftertaste, Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel with an average length finish

Poured from a bottle into a snifter deep brown with a thin white head. Aroma is roasted malts vanilla slight cocoa. Flavor is quite pleasing for 5% ABV chocolate. As it warms up it the dryness comes out nicely. Light coffee makes this very drinkable. Only drawback is it is a bit thin. But then a true porter isn’t a thick brew so perhaps I have enjoying too many stouts lately. ^8^. Adding that the bottle cap skull is so cool....true to the Mexican sugar skull/Day of the Dead.

Pours black with a large tan head. Smells of chocolate and hints of roast. Taste is mild chocolate, hints of caramel, and mild roast. Medium-bodied with a wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Dia de Los Muertos Pay the Ferryman Porter finishes with a quick, but sharp, dryness.

Bottle split at JF’s, thanks to he, 11/09/14. Black with a good sized tan covering that dissipates then retains. Nose is roasty, liqourice, treacle toffee, chocolate malt, earthy. Taste comprises mellow dark fruit, cocoa powder, brown bread, toffee, a little basic. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close with sweet conotations. Ok, a little 1D.

taster @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque black with a thick tan rim head, a few dots of lace. Taste is mild toasted malt that is quickly joined by bitter chocolate. Both drift unchanged to a light medium finish. Thin and watery, but it’s drinkable if there is nothing better.
