33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A surprising find! A golden amber pour with a billowing cream head; sweet, nutty, malt aroma; rich malty caramel body; with the faintest whaft of herbal hops in the finish.

bottle at Zamas, Tulum , Mexico. not as bad as expected, run of the mill pale but way better than a pacifico or corona. British Pale ale, earthy, light weeds & floral notes, caramel malt backbone. OK

Pretty bad. Barely noticeable hop nose, somewhat grassy, straw. Caramels, vague fruitiness, light diacetyl. Flavor sweet with a strange fruit, diacetyl, flat almost watery palate, little hop flavor and only enough bittering to balance at the finish, which is semi-sweet, avoiding cloying only because of the thinning finish.

Bottle: Hazy, red-orange with a tall, light beige head. Bready caramel and orange scent. Taste is orange malt, iron, bread-heel.... Sweet, but with a metallic bitter....tastes old, but it’s not. Earthy... Just ok.

Enticing copper color. White head. Nice light flavorful pale ale. It was surprisingly better than expected.

Rich copper and deep bronze coloured body with a thick, six centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cereal, malt, alcohol, nuts, a touch of light hops and way more cereal - not too great. Light-bodied; Funky sharp malt up front with little else except for apples, apricots and the stalest hops imaginable. Aftertaste shows not much else, with some light earthy malt and a touch of sweetness at the end - nothing else. Overall, a pretty lacklustre beer with only a touch of flavour and nothing exciting at all, nor any real hops to speak of. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from World Market in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 12-December-2014 for US$1,99 sampled at home a few steps away, in Washington on 25-January-2015.

No drinkability, completely harsh and sharp flavors, no balance, no hops, gross bomb

Jimthechap (1850) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 25, 2015
A surprise and a delight to try this in Dunedin, New Zealand. It seemed well within style, being lustrous amber with a collar of whte head. A good sniff gave me redwood bark, spruce cones and rich nectarine and pastry tart. There was a significant bitterness that I enjoyed, drawing me to another, but being dissuaded Mrs Jimthechap who (I’m told) has a greater appreciation of common sense than I... especially after a few Margaritas.

Cloudy, dark amber, thin head. Mild hop, light bitterness with light fruity hop taste and slight toasty biscuity malts.
