Hazy amber pour from a bottle. I get a little dough in the nose but not much else. Slightly sweet on the tongue with a little caramel and dough. Can’t say there is much in the way of hops. Flabby mouthfeel. Definitely more amber ale than APA.

Amber with a cream head. Nose is caramel, lacking hops, sweet, and toffee. Easy palate, caramel, dough, toffee and bitter. Smooth finish

330ml bottle from Beer Culture in New York. Rating from September 2013. The label certainly caught my eye and the beer pours a honey amber with malt in the nose.

Pours light copper with off-white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with mild flowery tones. Taste is a bit flat and somewhat stale. The come through but not in the way one would expect from the style. The bitter hop character is also underplayed as it is cut short by a strange musty off-flavor.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours copper amber, sweet, dry and bitter, something odd - refreshers?

Braudog (5578) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle. Dark amber, the head is quite sticky and firm foam. The aroma is musty and earthen. The beer drinks with a metallic bite, a bit wooden, leafy, mildly caramel. Drinkable ale, almost a British style with more of a stoic appeal, without the citric bite of most APAs. (#5544, 6/8/2014)

Bottle from Mouton Rouge Canterbury and drunk at home. Clear amber colour big lasting beige head. Sweet crystal malt aroma. Some toffee. A little bit of bitterness on the finish. Not a good beer. It’s just plain and boring and too much crystal malt. Um, just a bit dull. Bitterness on the finish is ok.

BLADT (474) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Bottle pour at Dos Caminos. A clean copper with adequate head. Faint nose. Bead malts. Cardboard. Taste has a corn-syrupy sweetness that fades to harsh, grassy bitterness on finish. Not enjoyable.

Leighton (10483) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2014
Bottle from the Drinker’s Paradise - drank on the street hobo style up in Kentish Town. Pour clear, amber-gold with a frothy white head (I know because I poured one out for the homies). Pretty mediocre stuff, lots of ready malts with touhes of caramel, toasty pine and a light metallic edge. Some orange, a bit of rind, brown sugar. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with mellow piney hops, more caramel, sugary brown bread. Drinkable but nothing special.

Beerhunter111 (6813) - Hasborn, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2014
Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht nach tropischen Früchten, reife Früchte, hopfig. Geschmack fruchtig malzig, leicht herb, minimal säuerlich.
