Bottle courtesy of Emmasdad (thanks Dan ) poured a clear dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of cocoa, earthiness, light licorice, light roastiness and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee and light licorice with a smooth lingering roasty cocoa finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 burg326 (1097) - Florida, USA - APR 16, 2012
12 ounce bottle that pouted a dark brown color. Aromas of some vanilla, roasted malt, cocoa, and some coffee. Flavors are the same, just a dialed down version. Decent little porter, wouldn’t mind trying more from these guys.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 2, 2012
12 oz. bottle. My first Arkansas beer. The pour gives a dark and ruddy brownish-mauve body with a moderate head of bubbly, pale taupe foam. Jagged, tattered walls of lace coat the glass. The nose is malt driven, very lactic and chocolaty, with fruity notes of fig and raisin and some tobacco-like earthy spice. As it warms I get some sorghum and maybe some distant maple. Hops lend a subdued grassiness. Flavors show a little more balance. Bittersweet cocoa lays the baseline, along with some dried up, earthen dark fruits. Grassy hops are a little more assertive, and the dark spicing lends a little bit of bitterness that lingers on the finish. The palate sports a moderate body that is chalky and somewhat papery, with carbonation dragging laboriously across the tongue. I gotta say...it’s a heck of a lot better than I thought it would be. Not the best porter I’ve had by any means, but a solid and fairly authentic for an English style.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DSG (3005) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 26, 2012
Bottle. Beer of the month club. Very dark brown to black color with a nice, big, consistent, beige head. Nice roasty aroma with dark chocolate, coffee beans and vanilla hints. Sweetish flavor with some chocolate, nutty hints and a drier, roasty finish with a bit of coffee and an acidic hint. Medium-bodied. The label is ugly, but the beer is decent and quite enjoyable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcnealc31 (173) - Elida, Ohio, USA - FEB 23, 2012
Some unfamiliar fragrances for a porter here with raspberry coming through quite a bit. Unfamiliar flavors, too. Gone are the chocolate and coffee you might expect, replaced with nutty malt, raspberry, pretzels, wood, and an extremely dry and chalky finish. The grassy hops are quite aggressive for a porter, too.
Very different. Give it a try.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 BiddleBrau (659) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2012
from BOTM club. Pours dark brown, hint of light comes through. gassy tan head. Rich malty nose hints of cocoa. Flavor starts tasty of cocoa but quickly turns harsh. Carbonation and harsh green hop flavor overwhelms malt flavor. Started off with promise but falls short.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 matthewjk (547) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2011
Came along via Beer of the Month Club - 12oz bottle into bottle. This thing lacked the robust characteristics that I was hoping for. Bit thin. I’m bypassing this in the future.

Pretty true to the style but without significance. I may have had it too cold, but the aroma was weak and the palate was exceptionally smooth for the style. Not much up front, but nice hints on the back. Roasty and chocolatey with hints of alcohol.
