3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Courtesy of our host for this weekís tasting kiefdog. Thanks Kevin, this brings me down to 4 more states/districts to go. Pours clear brown with hues of amber and thin tan head. The aroma is roasty, a bit nutty and some dusty dark roastiness. The taste has full roast to modest burnt malts and dark roasted coffee notes. It then moves into a bit of sweet molasses to the finish. This is a very tasty Porter.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour with a thin permanent foamy beige head. The nose is wonderous with notes of chocolate and light coffee, under light roastiness. The taste is roasty with some earthy coffee bean notes, bitter cocoa tones, and a smooth full body thatís a little smokey, like a touch of tobacco.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
It poured a dark brown color with a beige head. The aroma was of cocoa and coffee; earthy, and a touch vegetal. It had a medium body with a dull tingle. The taste was of chocolate, coffee and some hay. It had a little bitter finish with hints of citrus. Decent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice roasted caramel and fine balance of malts. This is a tasty porter but doesn't finish either quite as clean as some porters note as richly as others, staking a happy but not delicious medium.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
BOTM club. Pours a translucent brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tab head that dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma is chocolate, toasted dark barley, and fresh grain. Taste is grain heavy porter, light on the tongue. Decent, but underwhelming.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cola color with half a finger light brown head. Aroma mostly roasted malts, and a touch of licorice. Taste of coffee, cola, licorice, with some alcohol and then hops on the finish. It's a solid porter - very true to the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
6/15/2011: Diamond Bear Paradise Porter... Aroma: Black roasted malts, cocoa, licorice twist. Appearance: Dark brown, mostly opaque, thin beige crown. Flavor: Sweet caramel syrup, dry, dusty bittersweet cocoa in the middle; chocolate and a flash of hops and bitterness in the finish; quite balanced in flavors and bitterness; burned cigar aftertaste. Palate: Medium-light to medium body; prickly carbonation; mostly smooth. Overall: Fairly decent, but seems to lack a bit of body.
