3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ibrew2or3 (5758) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Wowzers, I finally finally get to try this. It has been on my ‘wants’ list for years. Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a nice clear gold body that supports a light tan head. The mild aroma offers up snippets of spicy hops, a touch of grapefruit and then just a hint of sweet malts. The taste has a nice bitterness that is mostly grapefruit and orange like citrus hops and then to midway and into the finish a sliver of malt sweetened citrus hop flavor comes to the surface to round this out with a touch of balance. This is a pretty darn tasty IPA.

Bottle at Damgoode pies. Pours dark orange with a thin white head. Not much on the nose but a bit of pine that fades real quick. Not much on the tongue. I’ve never been this bored by an IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BigDogLiquor (31) - Pine Bluff, Arkansas, USA - AUG 6, 2012
This is not as strong as a typical IPA but for my first foray into IPA beerdom it was a welcome brew. I really enjoyed the copper tone and the thick hoppy head that stays well.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheBrewSherpa (269) - Belvidere, New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Poured on draft at The Bulldog-Jackson into a pint glass.
A: Pours an orange-copper with a finger of head that had good retention and left a bit of lacing.
S: Very Mild citrus and grass notes. Hints of pale malt and caramel. Very underwhelming nose for an IPA.
T: Malt up front with citrusy hops letting their presence be known mid taste. Finished with a spicy hop note.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: In a word, pedestrian. Not bad, not great, not memorable, but drinkable and sessionable.
Serving type: draft
