4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2009 As of late April 09, the recipe has changed. The new brewmeister has added his touch, and the results are wonderful. Bottle pours a light orange copper color, cloudy, nice white top that leaves a nice pattern on the glass. It is very hoppy, yet the flavor comes though as the citrusy, floral hop flavor accentuates the sweet caramel taste. It tastes like an imperial. The long aftertaste is oily pine. The one I drank was out of the first keg tapped. Should be to the retail outlets soon.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear perfect amber color with a small capping of smooth lightly tarnished yellowed foam. Big blobs of lace stick close to the top of the liquid.
Aroma is mostly grassy and tingey with grains and a light perfume of cardboard and butter ascents.
Taste is more or less again quite grassy with a tender piney sided bite and pithy grapefruit/lemon nudge rounding off some toasted portions. Trace cardboard fluff and leafy hopped dryness float about the finish as it renders leftovers of pine and pithy citrus.
Body is fairly firm with a lessened medium girth. Shallow finish, kinda where it loses its way is the finish as its just kinda there, but impressionable enough to keep some interest in a fluffy textured hopped up leafyness, grassy, citrusy mildness.
A pretty standard IPA thatís abit above an average for the most part. Wonít be a problem drinkiní more.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, thanks BossHossBikes. Thereís a notch in a 7 on the side of the bottle, I interpret this to mean it was brewed in July. The aroma still has pretty good hop definition, so everything seems to be in check. I get a bit of wood and grapefruit in the nose with a very strong caramel backbone. Some newspaper and cherry stems are also noted. The flavor is a very predictable IPA, nothing really outstanding, but nothing lackluster either. Typical caramel sweetness is highlighted with a moderate hop bite portrayed in a grapefruity, peppery fashion. When I think of middle-of-the-road, acceptable IPAís , Cottonwood Endo always came to mind, but now I have another one to reference.

BOTTLE GASTON RESORT ARK: Nice and fresh when cold, but mossy as it warms. A decent IPA with huge hops for your hoppys out there.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy cooper amber with a copious beige head. Subtle nose with hints of citrus and a touch of malt. Medium semi-dry body. Initial malt profile is quickly balanced by an appropriate bitterness for this style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
a pretty decent IPA. slightly bitter with grapefruit, copper, carmel, and hay flavors. Pine and menthol and pepper with lots of malts. If it was a little more full bodied, it might have been a little higher rated for me but the thin palate killed all the good flavors for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle courtesy of Cornfield. Thanks Carl! Very familiar aroma. Hops more than offset by molasses and burnt caramel. Beautiful reddish, amber with a lasting layer of creamy, tight bubble head. Excellent lace. Tastes like it smells. Iíve had beers that taste exactly like this. Itís almost as if whatever brewing school the brewmaster went to has a stock recipe all the students are supposed to use. Not unique. Some piney/peppery bite. More molasses and cardboard than hops. Drinkable, but forgettable.
