COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In celebration of the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, Diamond Bear Brewing Company introduced its seasonal beer, Presidential IPA. This in beer terms is a "big beer" with lots of flavor. This India Pale Ale has a rich copper color and full body which delivers exceptional body, balanced by a high hop rate. This beer has great aroma with generous amounts of cascade hops to stimulate all of the senses. This is truly a beer fit for a head of state!

Draught @ Little Rock Airport: This one pours a slightly orangish-amber color. There was a bit of a head on it with some lacing. The aroma is good, with notes of citrus and grassiness. It is a touch weak for an IPA, however. The taste is also decent enough, with a decent malt body in the background. Maybe we have all become a little de-sensitized to hops with all the IPA’s out there, but it could have used a bit more. Still, this was VERY drinkable.

12 oz. bottle: Aroma a bit sweet almost syrupy. Not enough hops for an IPA in my humble opinion but won’t stop me from enjoying another.

12oz bottle sampled at DLD - Poured amber with a short offwhite head. Nice citrus grapefruit and pine over some bready biscuit malts. Flavor is grapefruit and pine with some bready malts. Pretty average ipa overall.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2007 Pours a hazy golden-copper, nice big head that makes funny shapes as it dissipates. Wonderful citrusy hop aroma. Flavor is bracingly bitter at the mid-back tongue, with lots of flowery and orange/lemon zest flavor in the finish. One of the best IPA’s i’ve tasted. - Rerate - MUCH less impressive upon retasting. Sweetness is cloying, and I can sense the metalic aftertaste that others mentioned here.

[235-20070324] 355mL. Sweet orange citrus hoppy aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with some bubbles throughout and a medium lasting foamy light tan head. Strong flavour notes sweet grassy citrus and light caramel with a bitter aftertaste. Medium body, seems complex. A nicely rounded medium IPA.

Bottle courtesy of Tuqueboy/Mabel. Orange body, with a creamy off-white head. Sweet orange citrus aroma and zesty lemon peel, very light notes of hoppy resin. Pleasant moderate bitterness in the flavour, with resiny caramel malt flavour and very muted citrus notes. (6+) Average palate. Pretty tame for a US IPA, but very pleasant. 7/4/6+/3/13-14

Pours a light-hazed amber color with a large, holding, off-white head. Aroma starts with some vegetal notes that lead the way to sweet and tart... Sweetarts. Mild milk and grapefruit. The hops that show in the nose are not attractive to me. Flavor fares a bit better with a sharp, peppery bitterness covering some of those "off" aromas that found their way into the flavor. Tingly mouthfeel adds to the sharpness of flavor. This ended up being pretty good.

<font size=-4>Like RAYBOY01, I too got one of these from <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-14352.htm&g />

Caramel and toffee malts prdominate in the initial tasting with PNW grapefruit and pine resin hop bitterness moderating the sweetness in the finish. My sample was somewhat musty tasting, or perhaps a touch of dishwater in the background. That, unfortunately was my lasting impression. Thanks to Cornfield’s recent ramblings, I was able to try this one.

12 oz bottle. Looks like orange koolaid and iced tea mixed together. Tastes bitter with strong metallic aftertaste. My first and probably last Arkansas beer.
